Kraft is releasing an honorary 'Bernie Mac N Cheese' product -- its flavor is bold, sometimes brash, and not cheesy at all.

Is the war sold out? So bummed I missed the pre-sale for that.

According to a MySpace bulletin from band Frances, Endless Shovels (the Rogue Wave "tribute band") is in fact Rogue Wave. They're playing tonight at Union Hall with Ravens & Chimes.

All Points West is one of the worst festivals ever. There is a 5 beer limit, which is reasonable for one show, not for an all day festival. The security is really over the top. They started forcing everyone who was sitting on the ground in the beer area to stand up. Total douchebag Jersey meatheads, lame

grizzly bear was really good tonight. played while you wait for the others, two weeks, knife, colorado, lullabye, little brother, he hit me, on a neck, fix it, shift, deep blue sea, and the two new ones (the ones they open all their sets with with that weird bassline [ed], and the one with the "we had time" line repeated over and over [daniel]) off the top of my head. daniel broke a string during the beginning of the second song, i think little brother, it was funny though. other highlights: the one person attempting to clap during one song (daniel- "thats not helping!") and catcalling, "chris bears a sexy beast!!!"). great night

Heard the beer limit was actually a NJ issue in that it's a state park so the state set those limits. But it was easy enough to sneak in your own liquor. I didn't bother with the beer areas at all today.

But yeah, APW is a huge fail overall. Today the ticket scanners weren't working so if you had a printed ticket, you could actually email the PDF to friends and they could get in too. The entry lines were ridiculously long at about 30-45 minutes. Ended up missing Metric because of them. Every single person around me was saying how much better Bonnaroo is.

I did get a much better view of Radiohead tonight though. Stage right was great, you actually do get the city view along with the stage and since it was hard to get to that side once everyone crammed in back, it stayed relatively crowd free.

I don't think I'd ever go back to this festival again unless they had Radiohead playing 3 hour sets with a guarantee of playing Creep and Karma Police.

APW Animal collective AMAZINg- extra trippy. KOL- ok, the sound mix was bad...Radiohead- UNREAL- GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2008 1:26 AM

Radiohead is such a live experience. Those visuals are fucking brilliant.

This girl I know who went to see them at the festival said their performance brought tears to her eyes, she was amazed. I wish I had gone

Posted by Narayan | August 10, 2008 2:24 AM

for radiohead, the visuals were better than the set. they were sort of putting me to sleep tonight. that said, i want to thank whomever posted the tip about the $7 ferry. there were again no lines and it was really easy and fast.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2008 2:47 AM

i hope kings of leon never play a show again.

man!! so disappointed that i missed out on grizzly bear last night. such a nice small venue to see them in as well. grateful that i could to see radiohead who are always magic themselves. however, i could have gone for some colorado versus annoying apw crowds. sigh. next time.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2008 11:24 AM

grizzly bear owned last night. Never heard such an electric vibrant set from them. the crowd was going nuts which was also a suprise but great

Jim James was amazing. He sang Ain't No Sunshine and then Lean on Me with Withers' daughter and The Persuasions. The Swell Season were cool too. Bill Withers even got up there and joined Cornell Dupree on Grandma's Hands.

motorhead > radiohead

there should be a specific post about grizzly bear's MHOW show

it was beyond epic

third time seeing them, by FAR the best

was enough of a fan to see them 3 times but was never gushing

until now
jesus the new songs kill

"there should be a specific post about grizzly bear's MHOW show"

I love how Grizzly Bear band members constantly post here.

^^ I love it when bitter musicians in shit local bands post about comments on brooklyn vegan and pretend like successful bands don't have fans and all post themselves

Jim James solo performance from last week's Newport Folk Festival is (or hopefully still is) up for listening to on npr.org. Good stuff.
