Neil Diamond is taking tonight off.

Evangelicals opened for Conor Oberst at Bowery Ballroom yesterday. They are done touring with Conor now and tonight they are at Cake Shop.

Sadly, it appears there are still tickets available for The Melvins show at MHOW tonight. Happily, that means there are still tickets available. Either way that means it's possible to see The Melvins right after Wilco which will be over at 10 and is right down the street.

What else?

Hope Wilco sound better from outside the pool than Dylan did from the exterior of the Prospect Park Bandshell last night. Bob didn't carry so well over the fence.

I'm gonna rub one out to memories of the two recent Radiohead shows...drink some beer...and fall asleep crying.

anon 3:15 can i be there to swallow?

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2008 3:17 PM

Seriously, quit comparing everything to Radiohead or just give up trying to follow any other band.

if the boys from port o'brien aren't stage-shy, they look like they'd be fun in "i'm from barcelona" kind of way but probably not to that extent, as in no balloons.

It is kind of depressing that we will not get to see Radiohead in NY for at least another two years...

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2008 3:37 PM

No it's not. That happens every time years. This trend will continue.

If you love them so much, go into a coma for two years (I'll help with my shovel).

I love Radiohead just as much as the next guy but you just got two amazing shows. Enjoy the memories and try not to kill yourself ... or do.

"Seriously, quit comparing everything to Radiohead or just give up trying to follow any other band."

It's just like a bad breakup, I'm going to need some time. I'm sure I'll be okay in a couple of weeks.

"anon 3:15 can i be there to swallow?"

And that really depends on two things: Your gender, and if you can tolerate listening to Motion Picture Soundtrack continuously.

Thao & TGDSD was amazing. That girl is spellbinding. She deserves to be huge. Can't somebody get "Bag Of Hammers" on one of those goofy shows like Gossip Girl and make her a star?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 12:26 AM

thao is overrated, shut up 12:26. and stop watching gossip girl

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 2:55 AM

melvins slayed last night. they ended the set with a mean, vicious, ultra-creepy "Boris".
