Rancid!

If the neighbors who are trying to shut down Studio B are, as they claim, so concerned about the safety of our kids... why don't they do anything about Todd P shows?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:30 PM

I think we all know the neighbors are full of shit re: kid safety

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:33 PM

because at S.Barn and DbA they always have some poor guy out front constantly clearing the sidewalk. 'please guys, please, could you move to the corner, please? could you come back inside please please please, sugar on top for Todd P?'

Neil seems like a down to earth cool guy!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:35 PM

See you don't see billy joel riding the subway like an everyday gentleman...he prefers to drive drunk through people's living rooms.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:38 PM

are shows at pier 54 rain or shine?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:42 PM

I saw a show in the pouring rain at Pier 54 six years ago... so I'm guessing yes, it's rain or shine.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:47 PM

he is still hot at his age

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:51 PM

Do you know who I am? I'm Neil Diamond. I live next to Marla Gibbs. I drive an excaliber.

About tomorrow's Dirty Projectors show at South Street Seaport: When would be the best time to get there? I've got to get there from Jersey.

Outernational at Knitting Factory, vamanos!

Posted by Jp | August 14, 2008 6:13 PM

apparently the show to blonde redhead is still crowded...lines all the way to chelsea piers...

we need more rain!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 6:43 PM

Right, cause rain stopped people from going to MGMT at the pool...

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 8:03 PM

Blonde Redhead is cancelled.

--Random hipster from the Chelsea apple store.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 8:10 PM

gee that Todd P is a real bastard for trying to keep the shows from getting shut down.

how self serving!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 8:36 PM

shock cinema are playing at zebulon, should start around 10:30pm.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 8:58 PM

Awesome Neil Diamond story!

But just so you know next time you want to take a pic of someone riding the train, you can, no matter who it is. It's a public space. I know you put your iphone away out of respect, which is cool but you shouldn't let bodyguards tell you what to do...Neil was being filmed anyway. Great story though!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 9:42 PM

was blonde redhead in fact cancelled?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 10:28 PM

I left the line at 7:45 because nothing was happening, and it was raining hard and lighting in the distance.
I am curious about what happened and if show ever went on.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 11:31 PM

i left the line @ 8:00 after waiting for 3hrs and poor communication from the organizers.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 11:46 PM

You'll be glad to know the show was canceled at about 815-830.

This is seriously the summer of lines.
WTF. Lines everywhere!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 11:55 PM

I hope Blonde Redhead plays another NYC-area show within the next few days...

...according to their mySpace they're free until a show in Mexico on 8/22.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 12:03 AM

i heard from organizers that the blonde redhead show was rescheduled for saturday. i haven't seen it confirmed anywhere though.

it sucked waiting in line for three hours, to at one point be told that they'd let us in as long as the thunder stopped. and it did. only to then be told that they wouldn't do the show in the rain at all.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 1:33 AM

what's security like at MSG? do they search pockets or just bags? is it ok to bring a small camera?

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:06 AM

seriously...blonde redhead is aweful. im not one to say sht like that on this blog...but they're up there in the 'wtf, i dont get it category' w shitty coldwarkids.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:35 AM

oh, and my morning jacket...they suck too.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:35 AM

what really sucks is being at work at 7:35 in the AM.

Posted by Tito | August 15, 2008 9:26 AM

lol omg tito.

i think it's unfair to compare BR with Cold War Kids. because cold war kids are like some sort of out of this world level of overrated and bad.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:48 AM

Neil loves the weed.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:55 AM

I didn't understand Blonde Redhead either until seeing them live. Great live band, but it doesn't translate much on record.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:04 AM

is blonde redhead being rescheduled?

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:11 AM

nice to see blonde redhead release some sort of official statement or something along the lines of "oh man guys; thanks to everyone the came out and we're sorry we couldn't play, but we'll make it up to you soon..." on their website/myspace.

except, of course, they didn't.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:21 AM

thanks blond redhead. thanks a lot.
