thanks

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 3:27 PM

will she play the piano in the hail or will she pull a blonde redhead and not take the stage at all?

Does McCarren Park Pool still hold shows in tornadoes?!?

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 5:14 PM

I am trying to find that out too about the tornado watch. I'm not sure how to find out.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 5:23 PM

ask death cab fans.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 5:24 PM

The tickets were so much, I feel like I have to at least go over there to find out.

After the Death Cab show (which was not worth it), there was litter like soda cans and bigger stuff blowing down the street. It was scary!

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 5:27 PM

getting cloudy out there.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 5:28 PM

Yikes - could be 200 wet guitars in Damrosch Park.

Posted by drewo | August 15, 2008 5:31 PM

What's the status of The Dirty Projectors show?

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:35 PM

Last year The National played during the pouring rain...so I would say status is show will go on and people will be wet.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:37 PM

Tell that to the people who waited for Blonde Redhead last night, Cassandra.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:39 PM

anyone go to the seaport? how was the show, weather?

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 9:31 PM

rhys chatham was postponed...or cancelled...but it didnt happen due to the rain.

manuel gottsching and the other opener did play...manuel was good but i never sat through that whole piece before. so standing in the drizzle wasnt really much better.

shame they didnt do rhys...wouldve been perfect with weather like last friday night.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 9:33 PM

the regina show was incredible. would've been that much more incredible if:

a) people shut the fuck up.
b) people put their fucking umbrellas down (seriously; do you bring an umbrella to the shower? do you people even shower?).

otherwise, she was great. and i thought the rain was a nice bonus. especially for the half-price ticket i got at the gate. (thanks, rain!)

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 9:34 PM

9:31

the weather was on and off rain, both sets were shorter than they would have been. late start for White Williams, not that much into him but it was pretty good. Dirty Projectors were great, however they cut the show off at 9pm due to fear of lightning i guess? it was as nice as any point in the night when they stopped it so i was a little confused, and it seemed like the band wanted to play on.

DP played for about 30-45min maybe, Police Story was the highlight for me. Dave talked about a new album coming soon.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:06 PM

thanks for the update 10:06. My main complaint about the seaport shows this summer is the short sets, even in great weather, so I'm not suprised about tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:44 PM

the lightening was super intense so the tool host was like 'we want you to get home safe, but we especially want the dirty projectors to get home safe' and he was so lame. he was so lame for no age too. god that guy.

DP was so good. they made White Williams look amateur as fuck, which he was. he only played four songs but he totally fucked up new violence (on purpose but it was bad) and he has no stage presence at all. that was fine when he was just a dude with a laptop and mic but now he wants to be a real band and he needs to step it up a bit.

The Dirty Projectors were amazing and people were pretty good about umbrellas cause the rain let up about a song in for DP.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:47 PM

"b) people put their fucking umbrellas down (seriously; do you bring an umbrella to the shower? do you people even shower?)."

i agree with you regarding the umbrellas, but to play devil's advocate, i have no idea what the fuck you're talking about with your shower analogy. people get in the shower to get wet. people don't go to concerts to get wet. also, are you trying to say that a majority of your fellow concert-goers were dirty? shouldn't that be a whole new gripe? wtf?

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:22 AM

i think it was some humor that went right over your unwashed head.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:23 AM

i think the comment from the MC regarding the dirty projectors getting home safe is because they are the ones touching electric instruments during a lightning storm. it was def the lightning, not the rain that cut that show short. and yes, too bad, bc DPs were amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 12:56 AM

anyone have a setlist for Dirty Projectors last night?

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 8:23 AM

Dirty projectors was SO intense w/ that lightning...

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2008 10:53 AM
