Robert Hazard (sp?), the guy who wrote "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" (and had a minor hit on alternative radio as a recording artist with "Escalator of Life") died recently.

and
Trashed On Fiction will be performing at McCarren on Tue. The bands are at 6, the movie is like 7:30.
Granted it's not exactly street credif the band says it, but it's going to be a fun show/film/free thing. It's also the last screening for the summer.
