Wilco

OK, maybe I shouldn't have written as much as I did at 3am, BUT Wilco is one of my favorite bands and I loved last night's show. I just half-jokingly meant Jeff seemed a little edgy (and he dissed Brooklyn!). More photos from the show they (those windy city @#$#@ers) played Saturday in Baltimore below....

Great shot of Glenn.

While at first he made some funny jabs about Brooklyn, he definitely did not throw any disses out there. He was actually amazed that unlike all the other crowds he has seen clap during Spiders/Kidsmoke, the pool crowd actually elaborated and expanded on the beat, not just going along with the same monotonous one. We switched up like crazy, and he was super impressed. The free thinker thing was a compliment.

Yay Brooklyn

Enough of the brooklyn show commentary. Just because you have a keyboard and an opinion doesn't mean you need to wield either. How many times do we need to be subjected to the same arguments?

The Baltimore set was fantastic, but damn that stage is ginormous.

Everyone needs to relax.

BV, thanks for the review and the pics. Coupled with the comments, I think someone who wasn't at the show would get a good idea of what it was like.

I was at last night's show. I thought Jeff loved us. He knows the Brooklynites can handle a little sarcasm. Overall the sound could've been better (though it wasn't terrible compared to other McCarren shows). The setlist, the crowd, the weather, and the setting were topnotch -- Wilco on a beautiful night in Brooklyn - what's not to love? I'm sure BV agrees, and I appreciate the color that was added to the review.

that's just jeff being jeff. we, midwesterners, are often uneasy in the spotlight. would you have preferred chris martin?

last night's performance didn't quite match the sweaty marathon show at the warsaw last year but it's was great nevertheless. the weather was perfect. i was disappointed that the band didn't appear in the bedazzled cowboy suits a la lollapalooza.

Just because you LIVE in Brooklyn does not mean you are FROM Brooklyn, i.e. you are NOT a "brooklynite".

I thought the show was damn good except for the part when I fell asleep and my friend put his dick in my mouth and took a picture.

Can we officailly put an end to the usage of the word 'diss'. It wasn't even cool back in '94.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:01 PM

Why ya gotta diss tha word diss?
