The schedule was released a couple of days ago. Nothing new. Somewhat of a weak lineup this year.

well I'm sure there are some gay people
on this site, including me.
back to the schedule,
as a native new yorker i would def
recommend the bike tour of governors island
for $$$$80.00 that's very NY.

There's no music this year! Last year they had Sigur Ros, Fiona Apple, Yo La Tengo, Rosanne Cash, etc.

DJs are not musicians.

"Pretentious?" That word is bandied about too frequently. When has The New Yorker pretended to be anything it isn't? Take in a lecture -it might do you some good.

to be off topic--not much to say about the new yorker festival, really--has anyone noticed cat power singing 'space oddity' in the new lincoln commercial?

that's news.

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2008 10:13 PM

10:07- agreed but these aren't lectures. these are conversations with moderation by new yorker staff writers. the session with elizabeth edwards might be a hoot but at $25 a ticket, i'll wait for her appearance on oprah.

You know, Britney is a beautiful girl. I saw her profile with photos and videos at [ ____Seeking40plus COM_____ ] . There also has some hot celebrities there. It's said that Anglina signed up there and started a new blog. We can signed up for chatting with them. It's also free.

Fuck ya Matt Groening will be cool. Much stoked.

many of those are certainly interesting. i think that it's The New Yorker's target market who are more pretentious than TNY itself.

i, however, cannot afford to pay so much money to hear authors chat.
