My Bloody Valentine

ATP NEW YORK 2009 ON SALE NOW! EARLY BIRD TICKETS AVAILABLE!

We are very pleased to announce that next years ATP festival in New York is going on sale today and we are offering fans the chance to purchase an early bird ticket discount. Tickets for the whole weekend are priced at $225 each + booking fee. This price will increase to $235 each + booking fee after NOVEMBER 1ST 2008.

Right now we are only selling tickets without hotel accomodation. Accomodation will go on sale for Kutshers and The Raleigh on October 9th and all early bird tickets will be given priority choice on which accommodation they would like at Kutshers.

The event will take place on September 4-6 2008 (Labor Day weekend!).

The format from this years event will also be the same with Friday featuring Don't Look Back sets and a comedy curated stage. Saturday will be once again curated by ATP and Sunday will be our special guest curator who we will be revealing in the coming weeks. Criterion will once again host the cinema.

We expect the early bird tickets to go quite fast as we have had various requests so we would encourage you not to take too long.

PLEASE TRY AND READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY AS IT WILL ASSIST YOU WHEN YOU COME TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE RALEIGH OR KUTSHERS IN REGARDS TO ATP. Any questions need to be directed to feedback@atpfestival.com as this is the only address that will be able to answer questions.

The link to buy tickets is here: http://www.seetickets.com/atp

If you choose just the pass - then you will be directed to the payment page.

(These cost $225 each + $12 booking fee and will gain you entrance into the three day festival including all performances)

Please note that the person whose credit card is used to purchase the tickets will be required to be present at the site to collect the tickets in an effort to prevent scalping. If the person whose credit card is used cannot be present, a photocopy of the front and back of their card along with the email confirmation letter they received when purchasing the tickets will be required.

Please note that prices, (though they appear in USD), will be processed in GBP, so there may be a very slight fluctuation in final price due to exchange rate differences, though we are doing out utmost to minimise this. If you have any questions please contact feedback@atpfestival.com.

wow 10 bucks off for a year in advance??

though silly, this is GREAT NEWS.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 3:47 PM

totally tempting. it was fun, but i'm not sure that i can go...now that i just found out that i got full blown AIDS from ATP this last weekend.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 3:53 PM

full blown aids are playing atp next year? I am so going.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 3:59 PM

Yay for bedbugs....yuck.

Posted by michaelways | September 26, 2008 4:04 PM

Who's "curating" next year?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:09 PM

Try to find one person that got bedbugs at ATP. You won't Stop the stupid rumor now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:09 PM

how were the other hotels nearby? The Raleigh still haunts me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:10 PM

Here's hoping for a Daft Punk / Phish double bill...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:12 PM

seriously, the bedbugs thing doesn't even make sense. how often do people actually sleep in those beds? the bedbugs would starve, that place is a ghost town most of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:16 PM

i will definitely stay on site this time. i have enough confidence in ATP's taste and ability to book top talent that there will be no hesitation, i already got tickets and a spot in line for accomodation, fuckers!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:18 PM

Dream Theater is curating

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:18 PM

pavement? portishead? please?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:23 PM

Looks like it's taking place on labor day weekend. I guess I won't have to show up to work hungover, exhausted and with no sleep next year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:23 PM

"Please note that prices, (though they appear in USD), will be processed in GBP, so there may be a very slight fluctuation in final price due to exchange rate differences, though we are doing out utmost to minimise this."

It is good to know that ATP has control over the values of the dollar and GBP. Who needs the Fed.

Posted by X_X | September 26, 2008 4:29 PM

portishead, slowdive, the twilight sad, get mazzy star back together, and while your at it the stone roses, the jesus and mary chain, bjork would be nice.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:29 PM

radiohead to curate!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:33 PM

429 nailed it.
also, they will adjust their prices in GBP so if the dollar gets stronger (yeah right) they'll make more money by keeping it at $225, but if the dollar weakens they lose money. they're willing to take a hit based on the exchange rate.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:35 PM

PRIMAL SCREAM!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:35 PM

I am guessing Pavement.

Posted by Ian | September 26, 2008 4:37 PM

Phish? Dream Theater??? Jesus!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:42 PM

Dream Theater is definitely the worst band in the whole wide world. No one is worse. Their music makes me gay, and I have a wife.

Posted by Blumpkin | September 26, 2008 4:45 PM

YEA BUT THE INVESTMENT OF 225 UNTIL THEN WILL YIELD 33c, WHICH AFTER TAXES WILL BE 31C...THNK ABOUT THAT.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:48 PM

"YEA BUT THE INVESTMENT OF 225 UNTIL THEN WILL YIELD 33c, WHICH AFTER TAXES WILL BE 31C...THNK ABOUT THAT."

Think about what this investment will yield if you end up not being able to go....THINK ABOUT THAT.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 4:56 PM

Anon 4:18pm so obviously connected to ATP its ridiculous. Nice try idiot.

If you buy a ticket to this in advance you are a total schmuck and probably also threw out your money to see Vincent Gallo this week.

Why would you actually pay face value when you know how fucking easy it was to get a ticket this year and possibly to get a free one. It is going to be the same next year. Accomodations can be found the day of in the surrounding areas with ease, not to mention the plethora of male and female sluts who you can hook up with and stay in their rooms.

Oh and i know a few people who stayed in the rooms at Kutshers and got bedbugs. Far from a rumour. All True. They are still washing their clothes this week.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:00 PM

Anon 5:00 you totally discredited yourself by saying you have friends who got bedbugs.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:02 PM

LUNA

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:12 PM

Guided by Voices

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:14 PM

he discredited himself by saying he had friends

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:16 PM

i really don't think it will be anywhere near as easy to get tickets for so cheap in the days before the festival like this year. i think a lot of people were hesitant to spend the money and take the trip up there, but after the response was so popular this year, i would bet tickets will sell out far in advance, assuming there's a decent lineup.

while the lineup for this year was great, sometimes i haven't been as in to some of the other ATP lineups and am nowhere near able to be coaxed into buying tickets for a mystery lineup a year in advance by a measly $10 savings.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:25 PM

I'm of the belief that its one dude talking about Dream Theater on this site! Who are you!?! Who likes that band! And people that do, shouldn't be reading BV. They would be home, watching instructional guitar videos on how to suck.

Posted by Champ | September 26, 2008 5:33 PM

I don't know about the bedbugs thing. I have alot of friends that went, and didn't have a big problem.

But it is true, that people got tickets for next to nothing days before the show. I wouldn't buy tickets a year in advance for this. That's just retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:37 PM

FUCK PAVEMENT.

RADIOHEAD!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:39 PM

Year after year, ATP proves itself to be the BEST rock festival on the planet. Of course I'm going to buy tickets the first chance I can. My current dream lineup: Ride reunites and curates, Verve performs "Storm in Heaven" in its entirety.

Here's a realistic rumor, though: Neutral Milk Hotel, either curating or playing Aeroplane. Got my sources.

Posted by Ben | September 26, 2008 5:40 PM

And nobody got bedbugs. I was there, Room 722. On the other hand, everyone got pneumonia.

Posted by Ben | September 26, 2008 5:41 PM

FLIPPER! WITHOUT THE HACK FROM NIRVANA! LOL!

Posted by RADIOHEAD4LIFE | September 26, 2008 5:44 PM

GALAXIE 500 and I'm there.

Posted by Blake | September 26, 2008 5:51 PM

Hey ben, from looking just now at your lame blog and some of your nitwit comments I would say those sources you refer to are probably your drinking buddies. You have no inside info.
Plus glad your room did not have them but yes some rooms there did and i know people who got them. Just cause your room didnt does not mean others didnt as well. Plus think about it, the guy who put the original bulletin out was already up there or his friends were I cant remember. Whoever it was had already paid for tickets and was at the festival. What did they have to gain from lying or making it up?

Anon 5:25, the glut of tickets avaialble this year had nothing to do with people being hesitant. The major players were announced before the tickets went onsale. There will be the same thing this year as well. Plenty of tickets for below face days before the show.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 5:55 PM

Hey Anon 5:55, are you a Manhattan not Brooklyn Asshole, and if so why did you stop using that name?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:03 PM

galaxie hate each other...im gonna say no.

dream lineup? definitely verve doing storm in heaven...ride doing nowhere...the clean, spacemen 3 reunion...

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:10 PM

Anon 6:03-i am Anon 5:55 but not "a Manhattan not Brooklyn Asshole".

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:14 PM

no bed bugs for us either! (stayed at kutshers)

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:32 PM

spacemen 3 hate each other more than galaxie 500 hate each other.

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:39 PM

PULP!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 6:49 PM

>Guided by Voices

amen

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 7:04 PM

I had a fantastic time, bedbug free, but with a touch of the typhoid. Has anyone considered that the few bedbug instances may have been caused by people who brought them in? And perhaps were all zexxy and shared them with others? It happens...

Yes please to Pavement.

Posted by Julie | September 26, 2008 7:45 PM

i hope there is a dont look back segment again.
yo la tengo doing i can hear the heart beating as one!

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 7:50 PM

r.e.m. (w/ berry)

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 9:05 PM

Let Daniel Johnston curate

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 9:31 PM

please include Echo & the Bunnymen

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2008 9:49 PM

i wanna see sigur ros and radiohead on the same bill. highly unlikely, but a boy can dream

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 2:37 AM

Marillion is picking bands, err, curating.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 8:37 AM

SMITHS REUNION!

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 10:51 AM

'Here's a realistic rumor, though: Neutral Milk Hotel, either curating or playing Aeroplane. Got my sources.'

It's funny this got mentioned because I totally saw Mangum hanging out over the weekend, and my immediate thought was "Next year he's gotta do Aeroplane."

So, here's to hoping something so insane like that could happen.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 11:10 AM

I'm only going if Radiohead is headlining two of the days.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 11:22 AM

I think it is more realistic that, scratch pixies, scratch mbv, scratch pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel is likely the reunion you're never gonna see. Just facing facts.

And Aeroplane could be a Don't Look Back thing, but really, a headlining set of that? It's splendor would inevitably be absent. All the live stuff is acoustic- pretty, but just solo acoustic.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 11:29 AM

"i wanna see sigur ros and radiohead on the same bill. highly unlikely, but a boy can dream"

i'm pretty sure they toured together a while ago.

Posted by jason | September 27, 2008 11:38 AM

Suede.

Posted by Anonymous | September 27, 2008 8:38 PM

radiohead will never curate or play at atp you cunt muscles. you fucks are missing the entire idea behind the festival then again, i'm sure everone screaming for sigur ros or radiohead only just recently discovered what atp was within the last year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2008 12:37 PM

I had a dream that next year's pitchfork festival featured Neutral Milk Hotel performing In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Cat Power performing The Covers Record, and a token hip hop band performing their most popular album.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2008 12:49 PM

Daniel Johnston, REM & Pavement !

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2008 1:06 PM

two words.
Roxy Music.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2008 1:08 PM

12:37, and the entire idea behind the festival would be?

Posted by anon! | September 28, 2008 1:09 PM

Ha, no bedbugs for me, I had a great room at kutshers.

I'm already signed up for next year and will get my room on the 9th, 'cause it was so good this year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2008 1:04 PM

The Bedbugs are bullshit.
Got my tickets already. Glad that all you asshole won't be there.

Posted by strfkr | September 29, 2008 1:22 PM

seriously, it was the best time i've had in recent memory. there may have been a bunch of tickets going for free this year, but i imagine after the universally positive reaction garnered by the 2008 incarnation of this festival, there won't be so many dropouts this time around, and they won't be going for free either.
suit yourself, losers, i've got my tickets and i have no second thoughts about it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2008 1:41 PM

I'm waiting till the dollar gains strength against the pound (ie until November)

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2008 1:44 PM

dear ben,

if i am one of your sources, please disregard since i'm mostly hullabaloo.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2008 11:11 AM

david byrne should curate, or bowie.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2008 11:17 AM

Bardo pond again please thanks

Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2008 11:57 PM
