ATP

After Tortoise and Thurston Moore played, Built To Spill performed Perfect From Now On to close out the "Don't Look Back" portion of ATP in the Catskill Mountains on Friday (Sept 19)

ATP

Built to Spill inadvertently signaled the "all clear" to the soundman, Doug kinda shrugged and said "let's just go for it". Of course, that meant on stage technical issues plagued their set, but to the audience (and me), it had no outward effect on their performance, nor did it change the sheer emotional power behind the songs on Perfect From Now On. Great way to start the weekend, and I would say if you are a fan of the record and missed this show, catching them at Terminal 5 is a must. Hell, maybe I'll go.

ATP

After the show, the party came alive in the multiple lounges and especially The Deep End, a gawdy 70s-style disco with a DJ until closing time (6AM). With a view of the pool, it was only logical that a few people in The Deep End reportedly found their way into the pool after 6AM for a skinny-dip.

The rest of Friday's pictures below....

Was this a "Dudes Only" weekend?

Why are there pictures of people not in bands? Useless.

Why would a woman spend many hundreds of dollars attending ATP when she could spend that money on shoes?

Or a tricked out name tag

"question-> Who was skinny dipping?"

Maybe Ryan Schreiber, Steve Albini and the guy from Les Savy Fav?

Thurston & Les Savy Fav were the highlights so far. I even thought about skipping Les Savy Fav because I've seen them millions of times but this was a completely over-the-top genius gig for them.

Anyone have a setlist?

Just kidding, I don't give a shit!

i love that everyone going to this show was dressed up more to look like "band dudes" than the actual guys in the band. ah, the pitchfork nation.

saw this show in portland and it was powerful and incredible. one of my favorite records.

Yes, it was all fucking dudes, and after playing an awesome set with Perfect, they decided they needed a terrible 15 minute jam session at the end of Car we walked out

I was one of the swimmers!! There were only about 8 people. We were in there a good half hour before security showed up.

The festival was heavy on the "guy" side but there were chicks there. The England ATPs definitely have a closer ratio between girls/boys.
