G.B. is one of the odd bands that I love seeing live, but never buy a cd for. Last Webster hall show was great...all energy and excitement...but i listen to thier cd's and I just cannot enjoy them.

Too much vitriolic nonsense. If you don't like GB, fine. If you do like GB, great! See you at the show.

Here's my request and challenge for the readers of this site: stop using "fag" as a insult. Stop using "bitch" as an insult. Stop using these and other gender, orientation, identity-based slurs. Do you regularly use racial epithets in conversation with your friends? Do you use racial epithets when talking to people of different racial groups? I hope not; but you must realize you're doing the exact same thing with "fag", etc. Elevate your mentality and your language and your actions---and your life will improve immeasurably.

Fiddles rock.

man,
you guys are harsh,
i bet most of you have heard like one song by them and have already based your whole opinion on them just off that one song.

i may be wrong, but still.

and please tell me,
what's wrong with fiddles?

Come on, these people are from brooklyn...they don't like to DANCE and actually have fun: they only like to have other people see them at places where they will be "cool" to be seen at.

I'm from Brooklyn and I'm gunna be dancing harder than any of you geeks.

Posted by Jeremy J | December 27, 2008 5:32 PM

is there a problem with not dancing but still enjoying the music?

The show at Webster Hall on Saturday night was excellent. Lots of people having a lot of fun. I recommend attending the show tonight or Tuesday if you're considering it.

was there an opening band on sat night?

what time did gb go one. was it really 8pm as stated on ticket?

Posted by sid | December 29, 2008 10:48 AM

Services was the opening band for Sat. They went on at 8, GB was on promptly at 9.

Posted by Anonymous | December 29, 2008 10:56 AM

how long did GB play for?

Posted by julian | December 29, 2008 5:32 PM

On Saturday night, GB went on at 9pmand played till about 10:45 or 11pm. (I can't be more precise, but it was in that range). They played the epic "Baro Foro" extended set, and then came back for a 4-5 song encore. As always, they played with intensity.

I agree with one of the dudes above, i suggest we use only variations on word "fuck" to insult each other.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 11:14 AM

I have to agree that GB's albums are not all that great. To be honest I'd for a long time suspected the whole Eastern Europe thing was a put on. Hutz sounds like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Which is hilarious.

However I saw them at Irving Plaza a few years ago and it was definitely in the top 5 all time shows I've seen. Nobody can beat them for fun and energy. Anyone who can't see that is a fag and a bitch.
