Mercury Rev & Dean & Britta - 2008 Tour Dates (Highline)

Mercury Rev announced even more tour dates since the last time we checked in with them. That includes a show on December 7th at Highline Ballroom in NYC. It's one of a few dates they'll be playing with Luna's Dean & Britta who also still have one more show coming up at the Zipper Factory in NYC this month. did they play album versions off of deserter's songs?
i walked by at 9:50 and saw the sold out sign...i walked home.

no..it was just ambient soundscapes with the singer talking over them for a bit. it was pretty alright, but hot as fuck in that place.

I felt really duped by that show. I've been listening to them for a long time and was pretty excited to get to see them in such an intimate venue. Anyhow, I was interested in what they were doing for about the first 10 minutes, hoping it was a cool, slow build up to maybe an actual song or two. However I was starting to feel really trapped in there, and the ambient, randomly generated sounds kept going. It's great they're into this stuff, and they're experimenting, I'm all for that... But I wish I'd known what I was signed up for.
