Noel

As a result of the incident on Oasis' Canadian tour, when Noel was attacked by a stage invader Oasis, are now being forced to announce that tomorrow night's show at Terminal 5, New York cannot go ahead as planned.

Noel fell heavily on to his monitor speakers when he was pushed suddenly from behind by his attacker and suffered bruising to his ribs and hip. Unfortunately, he still has not recovered from his injuries and so he will not be able to perform tomorrow.

All tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.

I guess that means DON'T look for Oasis in the Subway Friday.

i would imagine processing / service fees aren't refunded though...

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 2:51 PM

I didnt win tickets to this and i really did not want to pay those insane inflated prices on craigslist or ebay. I could not find one single person who would be kind enough to offer me a reasonably priced ticket. I truly would have hated to come on here the next day and hear the people crowing on about what an amazing show it was and how it was a show for the ages. Because, unlike Kanye showing up to do 3 or so songs at Knitting Factory or a Grizzly Bear members little side project show(or whatever bullshit show you fools think is so mindblowing), this could have actually been something realLy memorable.

So considering all that, I have to say to Toronto Man THANK YOU
And to the ones who had tickets I have to say AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA SORRY CHARLIE.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 2:54 PM

I HATE YOU NOEL.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 2:55 PM

Yeah processing prob not refunded...victory for TM!

I think this was all a stunt by ticketmaster to get 3500 people's non-refundable service fees. Noel is fine and vacationing in the bahamas.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:05 PM

How exactly does TIcketmaster get away with keeping the customers fees? I understand their argument is that they provided the service, but then if a show is cancelled outright with no rescheduling, then shouldn't the promotor have to pick up those fees, not the innocent customers?

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:12 PM

let's find the shover and kill him.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:12 PM

I believe that if a show is rescheduled and you can't make it and return the tickets, they can keep the fees after the ticket return, but if it is just cancelled with no make up date that they refund all the money.

Is this true?

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:13 PM

i thought the minute of 'morning glory' sounded amazing on that video before he got pushed.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:17 PM

They refund ticket price and processing and facility fees but keep the order processing fee

So in the end when all is said and done you have basically paid for nothing. And they somehow get away with this. Should be illegal.

Bastards

"let's find the shover and kill him."

Quite the contrary! That Canuk deserves a medal!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:20 PM

I agree with 3:17. And I offered my extra for sixty so that other person is wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:23 PM

ah silly people... thought you could see Oasis at a small venue? thought Noel was brave enough to suck it up and perform after a fall like that? thought Oasis gives a crap about the disappointed fans?

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:27 PM

he was right when he said radiohead suck when try to pontificate to poor people about the environment.

id take noel over thom any day of the week.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:29 PM

quite true, 3:27. he could've played sitting down or something.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:32 PM

Be Here Now is the best the album.

Posted by Guigsy | September 11, 2008 3:35 PM

2:54 - How big of a loser could you possibly be? You are happy that this show was canceled because you couldn't score tickets? SELFISH PRICK!! I couldn't score tickets too but would have been happy to hear that people had experienced a great show.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:35 PM

I guess this puts to bed the notion that some had that the attack was a media stunt.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:36 PM

i wonder if thats the same guy who said he was a blogger and posted his email looking for tickets. nice fan you turned out to be, sheesh.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:36 PM

Little bitch. Heard they're playing MSG in December anyway...

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:38 PM

i read if you go to this fun indie bar, ACE BAR, they'll give you full refunds for your tickets!! just call there and they'll put you down on a list and you just show up and get your money back, cold hard cash.

Had tickets. On the upside I just saved $50.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:53 PM

Here's the strange thing about this. They have no other shows booked between now and December. They could have rescheduled this for next week, but were forced to cancel it completely.

I'm wondering if unfortunately Noel's injuries are more than are being released.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:56 PM

The band and the record label should SUE that moron for loss of income for the two cancelled shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:58 PM

Whoops! I fell!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:58 PM

yeah, why wasn't this rescheduled like the other Canada show?

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:59 PM

"I'm wondering if unfortunately Noel's injuries are more than are being released."

Why would they do that? It's not like he was Brett Favre right before the Super Bowl...

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 4:00 PM

i think some nyu student got his welcome to new york moment at the ace bar and is trying to get them back. nice try, iowa. go back to class.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 4:01 PM

Only reason to go to Ace Bar is Jimmy from Maximum Penalty tends there. Tell him to sing "Acceptance" and he'll give you free shots all night.."

"MP in effect and we're bust this shit out..boyeee"

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 4:01 PM

HUMILIATION.

Posted by grace6697 | September 11, 2008 4:02 PM

The ONLY good thing that came out of this is the shaft the scalpers took over this. I sincerely hope there was on person out there who is in trouble with Fat Tony and counted on that $500 to get them out of trouble.

Other than that, big bummer. Would have been nice to see them at such a small place.

I guess it is off to Ace Bar.

Posted by Bob Roberts | September 11, 2008 4:05 PM

Get over this you whining bitches! They will be back and they will charge you twice as much and you will pay it. Big deal!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 4:09 PM

Awe he has a bruise...that poor lil guy. Hes so fragile. Maybe a Smurf Band Aid will make the boo boo better!

"Gallagher's attacker was hauled to the ground by security guards. The guitarist's younger brother Liam, who was singing, had to be restrained from retaliating. "

they should have not restrained Liam and let him kick that guys ass!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 5:19 PM

grace6697, you're a subpar cunt.

bottomline.

Anon 2:43 - "karen o once performed in a wheel chair..suck it up noel!

Anon 2:45 - "And so did Snoop!"

Anon 3:32 - "quite true, 3:27. he could've played sitting down or something."

2:45, are you talking about the VMA's back in what, '94? Anyway, don't forget Jules Casablancas of The Strokes' did a mini-tour that included Radio City and the Reading & Leeds Festival back in '02 while sitting on a stool cuz of a broken leg......... and you people think indie rockers are whimps. If Noel's ribs are really in bad shape he would have trouble singing, but that's what his brother is for. And the hip, that's what a wheelchair or a stool is for. Though I think if he had to perform like that, it'll just bruise - pun intended - his ego and decided to call it a day.

Posted by b.LOUD | September 11, 2008 6:44 PM

Anon 4:00 -

I think you mean Tom Brady, right?

Posted by b.LOUD | September 11, 2008 6:47 PM

What the fuck is an "indie" bar?

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 7:15 PM

I'm just glad this happened in Canada and not the US. For once, BLAME CANADA!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 7:24 PM

His ego is probably more bruised than his ribs.

If i was in a band bigger than the beatles and some "fan" pushed me over, i wouldn't want to play for anyone either.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2008 12:07 AM

Just back from Paul Weller tonight - Paul Weller dedicated "That's Entertainment" to Oasis - mentioning the members by name - and after Liam Gallagher came on stage for about 3 seconds to great applause.

Posted by Renee | September 12, 2008 2:14 AM

Did Liam sing with Paul, or only appear on the stage?

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2008 10:14 AM

The band and the record label should SUE that moron for loss of income for the two cancelled shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2008 3:58 PM

From what I've read, the Canadian court system isn't as hospitable to lawsuits as the U.S. court system is. More importantly, this guy probably has no assets so suing him would be a waste of legal fees.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2008 10:43 AM

no he didn't sing with Paul Weller. Just came on stage for a few seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2008 11:49 AM

fuck oasis. horrible band

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2008 12:36 PM

Yeah...horrible band. Do you realize what an idiot you sound like? If you don't like them, that's fine. But to just dismiss them as horrible is laughable. On another note...the whole not being able to sing because of the ribs is probably the main reason for cancelling. Noel sings lead on a lot of the songs...eg."Don't Look Back in Anger" and shares lead eg. "Acquiesce" on others. If he can't sing properly, the show probably would have been subpar.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2008 2:57 PM
