Born Ruffians @ Central Park Summerstage (more by Ryan Muir)
Born Ruffians @ Summerstage

Coming off the heels of their nomination for the Polaris Music Prize (they lost to Caribou), Plants and Animals (my pick to win) are teaming up with Born Ruffians (a band I felt should have been nominated) and are embarking on a co-headlining tour this fall. The pair of Canadian trios, who both had turns at Central Park Summerstage this year, begin the month long trek Wednesday in Pontiac, Michigan and will travel as far south as Austin, Texas and will conclude in Champlain Quebec not long after hitting NYC to play both Mercury Lounge (tix) and Union Hall The Bell House (tix).

In other Ruffians news, it seems the UK is really taking a shine to them. At their show in London last week, fans rushed the stage, knocking over lead singer, Luke Lalonde in the process. The look on his face upon getting to his feet is priceless. See the UK incident video, and all tour dates, below....

Wait a minute ... I have tickets to this show and the listed venue is Union Hall, and the link provided in the post also says the venue is Union Hall. So, what's with the post suggesting that it is not at Union Hall, but instead at Bell House? Can someone explain?

yep, union hall/bell house have the same owners & they moved it to the one with the higher capacity.

ticketholders received email notification today.

Ticketholders at Union Hall have just been notified about the change in venue. All tickets will be honored at the Bell House and the Bell House show is now 18+ instead of 21+.

Totally pissed that both shows are 17+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6:18, you could probably risk it and try to sneak in there. just tell the guy you came a long way and he'll probably let you in, or find someone over 18 to be your "friend."

Nevermind, checked the Bell House Web site and it is. Don't know when that happened, though.

For all under 21+ there is a free instore at Soundfix tomorrow at 7pm!

The Bell House is 18+ for this show, trust me.

MANCINO is opening. they quietly snagged some great unsolicited press when their first album debuted last year, but will probably become more of a household name with their second. i.e. don't miss the first set...8 or 8:30ish.

p.s. personally i can't stand union hall. nothing worse than having to navigate frat rats and upper west side sorts upstairs to get to its tiny, claustrophobic, unimpressive basement. the bell house, on the other hand, is absolutely gooooorgeous + the sound is good too. much, much better venue for this gig.

I think the set times are 7:30 8:30 9:30...which probably means 8 9 10
