@ Anon 5:11

They're part of Karl Rove's grass-roots cyber-army. It's the brainchild of Cheney, so as you might guess it's a shadowy affair made up of highschoolers and college students who found themselves in an Ayn Rand chat-room in 2006. Members have been led to think they're part of a spontaneous viral movement for which the default, self-appointed spokesman is Johnny Rotten. They've also been led to believe they're fighting to protect their inalienable right to a cool lifestyle, that freedom of expression pertains to consumerism and that Obama intends to dress them in bland Banana Republic. I wouldn't try to confront them about it, though; Johnny thinks he actually is the genius behind it. And you know what happens if you piss him off these days.

A word of warning: Cheney plans to mobilize them as the November election approaches to create the impression that Chris Martin (code name "Fair Trade Socialist") has assissinated W. They're hoping to insite enough panic to legitimize postponing elections indefinitely and instituting martial law so that Cheney can suspend term limits, thus assuming the throne until his death.

Hope this helps.

I'm really sick of these McCain campaign staffers spewing their bullshit on this site.

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 10:32 PM

If you had bothered to search for BV's post about that Oasis show and read the latest comments people have left there, you would've had your answer:

Palin put her foot up the Dems ass!

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 7:24 AM

If you honestly think that, you deserve a foot up your ass yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 8:31 AM

I, and anyone with a brain paying attention, thinks that, douche....but, please, by all means...

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 9:04 AM

Sarah Palin reminds me of the kind of crazed small town Jesus freaks who get themselves elected to the schoolboard in order to cut evolution and sex ed out of the curriculum.

she's scary and way out in right field

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 12:42 PM

The phrase you seem to intend, 12:42, is "out of left field" and even if you had gotten the part of the outfield right, you would've misused the phrase.

Posted by Pedro Martinez | September 4, 2008 12:48 PM

or maybe I was knowingly changing which "field" to reflect the political reality in this case, you anal retentive schmuck

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 12:57 PM

ironic that a right winger has the nerve to call someone on a misused metaphor, their man Bush has been mangling the language (among a lot of other things in this country) for 8 years now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:04 PM

I see "GOPster" has decided to start posting anonymously to try to mitigate the backlash

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:06 PM

seceding from the USA tonight at santos party house.

Posted by Alaska | September 4, 2008 1:13 PM

er, what backlash? obama's on the defensive going on o'reilly the same night as mccain's speech. yeah, i'm absolutely terrified let me go run up to manhattan asshole and spoon for a bit to calm my nerves.

Posted by GOPster | September 4, 2008 1:15 PM

wow GOPster, your lightning flash response to the mention of your name only proves you've been following this thread and are, almost undoubtedly, the anonymous right winger

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:17 PM

yep, VAST RIGHT-FIELD CONSPIRACY.

Posted by GOPster | September 4, 2008 1:24 PM

What part of "Pedro Martinez" looks like "anonymous"?

Posted by I'm Pedro Martinez, dammit! | September 4, 2008 1:25 PM

Obama is up by around 6 points in every poll!

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

the only place he's "on the run" is in your wet dreams about your Jesus freak hero Sarah Palin.

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:25 PM

the part that's clearly made up and doesn't link to anything

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:26 PM

hey look, the anonymous right winger is riled up!

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 1:27 PM

I don't give two shits if Palin loves Jesus, believes in creationism or whatever. She supports killing Islamic fundamentalist terrorists, rather than cozying up to them like pussy Obama. I had a good friend die in the WTC. Fuck u fucking Liberal idiots.

BO also voted to cut funding for US troops CURRENTLY ON THE BATTLEFIELD in Iraq. Meaning, those American kids who are being shot at, and currently in a war (whether u agree with the war or not), BO wanted them to be sitting ducks to be killed. That is clearly anti-American and fuck you for supporting that prick.

I aint no republican and don't give a fuck about Liberals v Conservatives.

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 2:01 PM

i think its time to turn the comments off. you are all retarded.

Posted by butternuts | September 4, 2008 2:07 PM

i think you just hate us for our freedom...you have chosen to side with the terrorists...luckily for you we can't catch any terrorists, so, er, just, uh, just, uh, carry on.

Posted by where's osama? | September 4, 2008 2:32 PM

you'll care when McCain dies in office and President Palin is cutting funding for schools and trying to force crony "rugged individualism" down our throats, plus starting wars our asses can't cover.

Pointless wars with Iran, Russia, China, no fucking thanks!

The fact of the matter is everyone sane agrees we never should have invaded Iraq, and McCain Palin wants to order up more of that shit.

Example, the Georgia / Russia debacle, what the fuck are we doing there? We spend 15 years averting our eyes and letting Russia become a neo-fascist state, then we pick a silly battle with them where they'll at least as in the right as our puppets, Georgia? McCain is all over that bullshit, wants to send the Georgians weapons.

That is fucking diplomatic ineptitude insanity.

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 2:42 PM

Can we get back to bitching about music, and trying to be cooler than cool?
What is the point of insulting people when they are not in your face? Cowardice...

They be tied in this poll that just came out. Needless to say, polls mean jackshit:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/04/opinion/polls/main4416798.shtml

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 5:14 PM

half the country doesn't have a landline anymore, and it seems pretty self evident that exclusively cell phone users are going to break more for Obama than for McCain, being urban and younger. They ain't gettin polled.

Obama's lead is probably a lot bigger than the polls show, but then there's always the effect where white people don't want to admit to a pollster that they won't vote for a black guy, but when they're behind the curtain they go the other way.

So who knows?

Posted by Anonymous | September 4, 2008 5:50 PM

we've already sent the Georgians weapons AND trained their military.

and Palin...

I'd hit it.

Hard.

All night.

I had a good friend die in the Oklahoma bombing... since McVeigh was a christian U.S. military serviceman, by your logic, I should be supporting killing christian U.S. military servicemen and their innocent families... right?
