"The first band I saw on Friday was Yeasayer, a pop-electronic-chant-lead-singer-in-a-dress act from Brooklyn. As I sat in the dirt waiting for their set to begin, I could feel the sweat running down my spine. To excite an audience as the sun bronzes beer bellies and fades tribal tattoos, a band has to do something special.Yeasayer kick off their next North American tour in Boston on October 22nd. More pictures from ACL below...Later in the day, a friend told me she had previously seen Yeasayer in a small club and thought they were great. In the great outdoors at 1:30 p.m., though, Yeasayer was good but failed to get the early afternoon audience to do much more than sway." [The Daily Texan]

the bass player has the goofiest get-up since Jeff Ament in '91. All he needs are some long-johns and cargo shorts!

The bassist reminds me of what my friend John looked like in 6-12th grade. I'm glad to see it being rocked again. It's sort of nostalgic.

Agree with the review. Saw Yeasayer at Bowery which was amazing and then was disappointed seeing them at Summerstage. They are meant to be seen at clubs.

I don't understand the policy of comment moderation/deletion on this site. it's a little shady that some not-so-controversial comments about sexuality are deleted [ie. which members of a band are gay] while some like the one above get to stay.
what gives? I just think it needs some consistency. or switch over to registered commenters.

i thought these guys were doing well? they can't afford sleeves?
i like this band, but they're basically blowing it with the gear...not that there's anything wrong with that

which one is gay?
Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2008 5:42 PM
your gay, I'm gay, the whole band is gay. Let's just face it, BV is gay so get over it and discuss something relevant like how retarded it is for dudes to have braided hair.

Didn't think I could love BV anymore, but the fact that he regulates on bashing LGBT just made me love him more.
