Anybody know where this is going to be? Irving? That seems to be the place for shows like this.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:38 PM

irving is 1100 people. i'd guess blender theater.

Posted by jan janson | October 7, 2008 2:40 PM

My guess would be HighLine Ballroom. It holds about 500 people.

Posted by wembley | October 7, 2008 2:41 PM

its going to be more then that...many radio stations are having contests also

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:48 PM

Too bad the former site of CBGB's sells $350 jeans now...would've been amazing for this!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:49 PM

the info only says that acdc.com has secured 500 tix. doesn't mean that's the capacity of the place. i'm sure a bunch will be given away by radio promos and to industry folks.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:50 PM

that means it's gonna be at MSG just like the free coldplay show!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:53 PM

Would love to attend this

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:54 PM

"Would love to attend this"

^^

I'm sure there are a bunch of spankies around here who don't have the slightest appreciation for AC/DC's greatness, unfortunately.

Posted by UN:art:IG | October 7, 2008 4:13 PM

cliff burton died on black ice.

AC/DC playing anywhere that holds less than 2,000 people would be fucking amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 4:57 PM

where does it say that this is a live performance?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:01 PM

"where does it say that this is a live performance?"

It's not. It's actually a private taping of Iron Chef America. Brian Johnson and Mario Batali vs Angus Young and Bobby Flay. Wonder who will?!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:09 PM

it's mccarren park pool.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:15 PM

just sayin' it doesnt say performance or live or show anywhere. Special event could be a lot of things.

granted it probably IS a show. But no sense getting worked up.

Also whats the deal with "greater new york"?

SILENT BARNNNNN

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:22 PM

intimate little gig in a dumpster?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:41 PM

bon scott = dead guy in mccarren pool shed

hell ain't a bad place to be!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 5:56 PM

>>just sayin' it doesnt say performance or live or show anywhere. Special event could be a lot of things.<<

On the website it says "Pre-Order Black Ice and win tickets to the Final Rehearsal Show before the tour!"

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2008 10:46 PM

Someone told me it was gunna be at Market Hotel.

Posted by Jeremy J | October 8, 2008 12:56 AM

pretty sure its actually going to be in the Philly area. their definition of greater NY area is pretty crappy, but yeah I heard it was going to be in the Philly area when I was working at my former radio station. certainly its not in Manhattan if they are saying greater NY area.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 1:05 AM

Yankee Stadium farewell concert

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 4:31 AM

nick and norahs basement

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 6:49 AM

Ay least one of these intimate performances is in Philly. I live here and they have been talking about it all week on 93.3 WMMR...people calling in trying to win tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 8:09 AM

you might be right about philly, but without a doubt it is not part of the greater new york area.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 8:35 AM

yankee stadium farewell concert isn't happening anymore. steinbrenner threw a shit that the producers hadn't booked an act yet and called the whole thing off.

Posted by wembley | October 8, 2008 9:02 AM

It should be in a Wal-Mart.

Posted by Kurt C. | October 8, 2008 10:26 AM

how is this any different than the lotto? spend 15 bucks and you "might" win tickets to the ac/dc show? i can also spend a dollar and i might win 20 million, then i'll pay AC/DC to play my next birthday party.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 1:26 PM

I've been hearing some chatter about this show actually being in Wilkes-Barre, PA...can anyone confirm?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 11:31 AM

i won my tixs today of the radio here in syracuse ny . 95X, they gave away 12 sets of tixs plus we get a free bus ride to and from . cant wait its going to be a blast no matter where they play . by the way they were the last set of tixs they were giving away

Posted by bill | October 14, 2008 8:44 PM

i got my info from 95X yesterday and it says the show is in wilkes- barre.the lady at the station said it is at a bar there. so what bar in the area hold abput 500-600 people??????

Posted by bill | October 16, 2008 7:27 AM

The show is in Wilkes Barre at the Wachovia.

Posted by ironman | October 22, 2008 7:57 AM

Wilkes Barre is 2 and half hours from NYC...thats not the greater NYC area...

Posted by Anonymous | October 22, 2008 8:13 AM

did anyone get tix?! did they announce yet?!

Posted by jack johnson | October 22, 2008 8:44 AM

The show is definitely at the Wachovia in Wilkes-Barre. Anybody know if there is a black market where I can get tix?

Posted by Bob | October 23, 2008 7:48 AM

I entered several contests with no luck.I will drive from Baltimore without a ticket,If I know the definate location in hopes of somehow scoring a single ticket

Posted by Danny Villanueva | October 23, 2008 10:41 AM

I will be there. I won tickets from a Delaware radio station and they had given out ten pairs. I can not wait. I am sooooo excited! I wish I knew where we were going but all we were told was to meet at the radio station and they will have a limo bus taking us to the show where we will pick up our tickets! Not knowing is adventurous too though! I think it will be a bar though cause they kept stressing that you had to be over 21!

Posted by Misty | October 23, 2008 12:37 PM

The show on TUESDAY is at the Wachovia Arena, this secret show is definitely going to be at some small venue, god knows where.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2008 1:21 PM

The Sunday show is at Wachovia Arena also. I have a friend who won tickets and was told to be there at 7:30. I'd like to find out if there are other tickets available, and if so, how much $$$. They were only told that guests had to be over 13 so its not at a bar.

Posted by Bob | October 23, 2008 1:35 PM

I'll be there suckas and it's going to be in the wonderfully boring state of PA in the barn of an amish community...true story. i got the inside scoop form the label

Posted by Barack in Black | October 23, 2008 2:14 PM

they told me that the show was at a bar and every one had to be over 21. guess we will wait to sunday and see

Posted by bill | October 24, 2008 5:13 PM
