Franz Ferdinand @ Music Hall of Williamsburg last night (more by Kyle Reinford)
Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand play Music Hall of Williamsburg again tonight (10/8). Then they join M.I.A., Hot Chip, Chakha Khan, and N.E.R.D on Saturday. Details below...

You heard that Diesel is turning 30 this year, right? Did you also hear about this big xXx party they are throwing on Pier 3 in Brooklyn this Saturday with N*E*R*D, Hot Chip and M.I.A.? Were you lucky enough to get yourself a ticket for the festivities? Yeah? Excellent. It's going to be awesome, see you there.

Franz Ferdinand and Chaka Khan are on the bill too. That may or may not be a surprise we just ruined.

Wait, you still haven't gotten a ticket? Ouch. Have fun doing whatever it is you'll be doing on Saturday night.

Okay, there's actually one last chance to get a ticket. Here's how:

The Diesel Stores in NYC are giving them away Friday morning starting at 10AM. You didn't see this coming? Come on, smart guy. Diesel is turning 30, and they are doing this thing called Dirty Thirty Denim. Basically it's a pair of one-day only Diesel jeans for $50. You don't even have to buy a pair to get a ticket, but you might want to, considering these will probably eBay for way more than the $50 you'll drop on them. It's first-come, first-serve on the tickets and the jeans. And it starts at 10AM. And that's your last chance to get tickets, for real this time.

Here's where:
Diesel - 1 Union Square West, NYC
Diesel - 770 Lexington Avenue at 60th Street, NYC.

10AM on Friday, October 10th. There will be booze (both stores) and Pete Rock (Union Square only) to keep you entertained.

And we're also streaming all the 17 xXx parties live on VBS.tv and Diesel.com

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 1:30 PM

Never mind the tickets, what's this about free booze?

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 1:58 PM

holy shit, and it's free?

that's incredible

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 2:13 PM

How much are people willing to pay for these tickets? I already got two and am thinking I could make a pretty penny here (no offense Chaka). Also, how are they going to enforce the non-transferrable issue?

Posted by Broke in BK | October 8, 2008 2:20 PM

Broke in BK- I'm willing to discuss purchasing one of those tickets from you. Please email me at jareddymbort@gmail.com if you still have one available.

Tickets do not guarantee admission.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 2:41 PM

We built this city on rock n roll!

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:18 PM

corporate cool

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:26 PM

Tickets do guarantee admission. Why do people make things up here?

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:29 PM

Yeah the people on here are really a hotbed of stupidity. You have a ticket you will get in for sure. The later you go the bigger the line you may have to wait on. I do think Diesel meant to do this in a different way though when they printed up the ticket because as well as the non transferable thing the ticket also says when you get to Pier 3, check your name on the list and go in,.
Well the tickets given out already did not require you to give any info and there is no RSVP anywhere. And the Diesel store is not doing that either. They are just giving the tickets out. So ignore the non transferable bullshit if you are planning on scalping.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:49 PM

"corporate cool"
success.
"Why do people make things up here?"
Too much education, not enough sense.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:49 PM

there is an RSVP guestlist, which I would imagine is how the majority is getting in.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 3:58 PM

there are 2 types of tickets, ringside and balcony. the balcony tickets are in essence VIP tickets so those are the ones that are "non-transferable" and you will have to check your name at the door. if someone gave you a balcony ticket and your name is not on the list then you might not get in.
ringside there is no list, you just need a ringside ticket.

is the event 21+??

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 8:03 PM

yes, it is 21 and over. there will be free drinks free food free everything. amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | October 8, 2008 9:35 PM

wow

Posted by greg | October 8, 2008 11:40 PM

Awesome. FF are just the best, really. Great show, despite utterly wasted Scottish dude who tried to pick a fight with me. We got seven new songs, all really good.

Posted by bill p | October 9, 2008 12:57 AM

Every concert I go to here in NYC, there are always British folk acting a fool in public. This FF concert at MHOW was no different. Were you by chance standing on the raised promenade section on the back right hand corner of the venue? I was standing there earlier in the show, but these English fucks kept bumping into me, so I decided to move.

Posted by pants | October 9, 2008 1:30 AM

the douches who kept bumping into you were probably American security guards, reeking of weed. If MHOW wants to stay open they could use staff who don't spark on the job and don't smell like Willie Nelson's beard.

FF were fantastic. New songs were especially great. Alex K said the new album is mastered and will be called "Tonight."

email me! steven@clixtix.com

Posted by stephenkv. | October 9, 2008 5:28 PM

is it one ticket per person?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 8:22 PM

is this event really 21+, did they card when you got the ticket, those of you who got em at the record stores earlier this week?

I'm three months shy of 21, looking to wait in line tomorrow morning, want to make I can get in. Anyone, please post asap.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 9:28 PM

they didnt card at other music, and its unlikely they'll card you at the diesel store tomorrow, so you'll probably be able to get a ticket.

you wont however be able to get into the party, as the ticket specifically say 21+ over, and i highly doubt diesel/vice are going to throw a party at this magnitude without taking all the proper liability precautions.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 10:17 PM

just heard a rumor that over 10,000 tickets were given out and only 3,000 people are getting in. also hearing that even if you have a ticket it does not mean guaranteed entrance

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 10:45 PM

No way 10,000 tickets were given out. I went to each of the 5 ticket giveaway locations to grab pairs right when it was announced and they each had about 100 to give away, so that's 500 tickets.

Then probably another 100 in VICE magazines, and another 1,000 at Diesel stores, so that's only ~1,600 tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2008 10:49 PM

Yeah tickets guarantee entry, also, I called Diesel yesterday and they said you have to buy the jeans. I said up until the other day you guys were saying no, and she said, you always had to buy the jeans, so I dunno. I go my pair tho!!.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 7:14 AM

The line at the union square store, about 30 mins ago, was from the store entrance, down 14th street to 5th Ave, and up 5th Ave around the corner. Fuck that. Looks like a circus inside the store, and it also looks like they are letting in very few people at a time. Oh, well.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 11:05 AM

just back from the makeshift venue. saw prince doing a soundcheck. the line is already at least 600 long. i'm guessing that if you don't line up by midnight tonight, you're probably not getting into this thing.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 1:40 PM

" will buy tickets from anyone! email me! steven@clixtix.com"

Hey Steven, let's meet up so I can pretend to sell you tickets and then kick your fucking ass.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 1:43 PM

fuck diesel. i was told they had 900 tickets inside at one point.. when there were clearly no more than 300 (at most) people in front of me.. needless to say, the 5 people at a time thing was bs and by the time i was about 10 people from the front i was told there are no more tickets. so i went inside and got drunk on bloody marys. fuck diesel. fuck diesel. wait, let me say it again. fuck diesel.

Posted by paper planes. boom boom take my money. | October 10, 2008 1:50 PM

They had 900 pairs of (crappy) jeans and about 300 tickets to the party. You weren't required to buy jeans to get a ticket... I got the last ticket.

Posted by last ticket my ass | October 10, 2008 2:21 PM

LOL! The jeans WERE crappy! I normally like their Matic jeans for women, but something was WRONG with these...they fit all f*cked up! LMAO.

Plus, I didn't get a ticket. They ran out while I was downstairs trying on the crappy jeans. LOL, so someone BEHIND me in the line got a ticket, and I didn't. OH WELL. Life sucks. HAHAHAHAAH.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:14 PM

anyone interested in buying tickets?
just respond to this post with an email or whatever.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:15 PM

Yep. 2:21, that actually is my CL post:). I've decided not to sell though - screw the rent, I'm going!

Posted by Beeeeeve | October 10, 2008 4:18 PM

i got my tickets, went to the lexington store at 5am. first 10 to go in.
fuck u bitches!

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:28 PM

And a pleasant evening to you too.

Look to grab tickets on CL on the cheap, as folks begin to realize that, as previously stated, even ticket holders are not guaranteed entry. For most folks, that's a distance to travel for a show where they are not even guaranteed entry.

Posted by drewo | October 10, 2008 4:33 PM

why are people so into this bullshit? there's no way the bands will play full sets, so what are you really interested in?

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:37 PM

Why do people insist on making shit up. Tickets guarantee entry, and if you're worried about, show up early. Holy shit some of you people are such downers. People probably don't enjoy the time they spend with you. Lets think, the place is huge and can fit way more than the 5000 people they say will be attending. Say 500 tickets at each store plus the 500 around the city and maybe 500 in Vice Mag. Thats 2000 tickets with 3000 to spare to the elite I suppose, plus the people under 21 that realize they cant use them, and the people that horded to sell that wont be using them.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:53 PM

Assholes at the store told me I could get 2 tickets, and that there were 2 tickets in each envelope. Too bad they're liars. Best fucking 5 hours in line I've ever spent.

Also, the jeans are terrible... absolutely awful.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 6:59 PM

Did they take your name at the store? On the inside of the outer envelope it says to check your name when you arrive, they are Ringside but no one took my name at the store.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 7:14 PM
