DOWNLOAD: Horse Feathers- Curs in the Weeds (MP3)
If you're looking for something quiet to see after a long and loud CMJ, Portland's Horse Feathers, described nicely by their label Kill Rock Stars as "minimalist Americana", are in town to play a show at Knitting Factory. The MP3 above is off their album House With No Home which was released in September of this year. More songs are streaming at their MySpace and they've got a Daytrotter from last year.
They also have a show scheduled for November 21st at Union Hall in Brooklyn. All dates below...

I like the new album, but they sould almost exactly like Great Lake Swimmers, who in turn sound exactly like alot of other folk.

i saw horsefeathers perform last year, and it felt a little bit too "be quiet - we're trying to be intimate" for me - but then i bought the song "rude to rile" from iTunes and i absolutely love it!
