Hot Chip are on a North American tour that started at San Diego's Street Scene, hit Treasure Island in San Francisco, stopped at ACL in Austin and visited Pop Montreal on Wednesday. BrookynVegan Mike was at that show and said...
As the lights dimmed and dance music started blazing over the PA, Hot Chip guitarist Al Doyle danced on stage first. He grabbed the microphone and began speaking fluent French to the Montreal audience which only increased the excitement to the already hot crowd. This was my first time seeing Hot Chip and they were fantastic. The bass was so heavy that it made my nostrils shake. They changed the arrangements of some of their bigger hits, like "Boy From School" and "Over and Over," but they were fun and the audience at it up.From Canada, Hot Chip and their tour-mates Growing made there way to NYC and played shows at Terminal 5 on Friday and Saturday night. The pictures in this post are from the Friday show (10/3).

The tour ends this Saturday October 11th with one more NYC show Hot Chip are playing with M.I.A. and N.E.R.D., courtesy of Diesel. More pics from Terminal 5 below...

freaking great show, both nights. I danced my ass off and fuck the haters, sure its out aways but terminal 5 is a fine venue and theyve really cleared up some of the orginaztional and sound issues that plagued them for awhile. hot chip just sounded so good, LOUD as hell but very clear too. such fun

I had a B-L-A-S-T!
Amazing show, it helped that we were front and center. Made friends in the crowd, danced, jumped, and sang-a-long.

Growing were dreadful. They need to practice. Maybe 10 people clapped after they left the stage. It was painful.

Growing are often difficult music... not in a bad way.... just not pop songs... Would ya call Brian Eno or Tony Conrad boring and terrible? If so, then that's telling.

People were unnecessarily rude to Growing, booing and even throwing crap onto the stage. Got some nice pics at the link below.
