Broken Social Scene just put on what was/will be the best show of cmj. Land of Talk f'n rocked it too.

1100 bands playing in town and the show you happened to see tonight was and will be the best of them all. Right. The word for people like you is delusional.

3:48...the show happened to be Broken Social Scene. They happened to play for over 2 1/2 hrs. And they basically played all of "You forgot it in People." 1100 bands but how many really top BSS?

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 12:15 PM

GGD top BSS

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 2:12 PM

oh shit GANG GANG

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 2:50 PM

"1100 bands but how many really top BSS?"

its pretty easy actually - the most popular band isnt always the best. attention scenesters: BSS isnt the best band on the planet

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 3:08 PM

let's not kid ourselves: the bss show was the featured show of cmj. it was only plastered at the top of every cmj banner ad.

that said, they only let 45 badges in.

"its pretty easy actually - the most popular band isnt always the best."

Of course not. No one is saying that and that's stupid to assume. Attn hipsters: just because a band is popular doesn't mean they're not good. And in this case it's just coincidence that one of the most popular bands playing cmj also happens to be the best.

And no, BSS is not the best band on the planet. Radiohead is.

Conan's no good without Andy

I love how people try to say what band is the "best"...its so ghey, listen to whatever you like, you dont know SHIT ABOUT MUSIC

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 9:01 PM

Anyone who claims a band is "the best" is just completely missing the point when it comes to music.

Posted by Anonymous | October 25, 2008 9:52 PM

BSS was also my favorite show of the week (perhaps a less contentious phrasing than calling it "best"). After watching dozens of short sets, any band putting on that scale of a live show for 2 and 1/2 hours will stand out. And it helps that they had a mostly "classics" setlist and Liz Powell killing it as their new female. Honorable mentions: GGD, Burma, Bearsuit, Pretty & Nice

Man, looks like the find of the week were these young upstarts BSS. Who knew!

If you don't like music, just eff off.

i can't believe how long shout out out whatever took to set up yeaterday, and then how terrible they were. and how horrible the music was that the knit played during the set-up fiasco. what a nightmare. but thanks, still, bv for putting on the show, for real.

DMBQ was awesome

Posted by Anonymous | October 26, 2008 5:59 PM

Mae shi are so cute, honestly. but mae shi singer dude was holding up the snack line at the smell the other night. less flirting more snacking mae shi guy!

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2008 4:40 AM

you're taking the "best" thing waaay too literally.

Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2008 1:34 PM

best band on the planet is the band you are currently in, or barring that, the band your friend plays in. end of discussion.
