Minus The Bear & Annuals @ Webster Hall, NYC - pics

"This past Saturday night [10/25] I saw Minus the Bear at Webster Hall. It was an awesome show; they are a very tight band that brought the crowd through a wide range of emotions. I was damn surprised that their drummer plays a basic, clear fiberglass Ludwig four-piece set with only two crashes, a ride cymbal, and hi-hats. His sound is generally much fuller than the equipment portrays. It's great seeing bands in small venues, where you can actually see the performers' faces instead of resorting to a big screen.More pictures from the CMJ show below...Afterwards, with time to kill before my train home, I went to my most favorite place on Earth (ok, my favorite bar at least) for some libations. Despite the large crowd in this oddly laid out location, I grabbed a seat at the bar, and had my first beverage. As I was consuming my second, a girl came up to me, 'Excuse me, sir'. [edmarsh.com]

yes, in fact dave knudson of menos el oso
was in fact the guitarist for botch,
a mathcore/metal band from washington.
that rules.
i'll be doing laps across fifth avenue tonight
as michael phelps, going for the gold.

Ahh The Jesus look.. Worst crowd ever in the front for one of the best bands out there.. Frat boy footballers screaming every word to Pachuca Sunrise? What is this world coming to? This wasn't "Betterman" during a Pearl Jam concert..

...yup! i believe it was one of the guitarists. ive only seen this band once and it was in front of maybe 50 people, id feel weird seeing them at a place like webster.

Webster Hall a small venue? What?! I didn't go to this show because Webster Hall is too big of a venue.

I was there and the lighting was horrible. These pictures are pretty amazing under the given circumstances. Sylvie sucked, Annuals sucked, this was like my seventh time seeing Minus the Bear and I wasn't very impressed with this one.
