wonder if the back of his shirt explains who's gonna pay for it...don't think he is...unless Indie music is suddenly a cash cow.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:09 PM
same people who paid for the billion dollar war.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:20 PM
nobody paid for the war...we're in debt 10 trillion since we borrowed the money...thanks for trying...i think the war is more than a billion too...FYI.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 4:23 PM
maybe if we used the $700 billion thats going to wall st. ass holes we could provide national health care and the people using their own money for treatment could use it otherwise to stimulate the economy from the ground up???
on second thought, the AIG exec's pedicures are more important...the money goes to wall st. sorry sick people.

I dig No Age...but they should not be on late night TV. It just doesn't fit.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 5:01 PM
@Paio Laa: Not even Obama subscribes to that viewpoint.

my sarah palin t-shirt just got me fired!
the whole world's in love w/ obama
and wants to shatter my broken heart w/ his big face on everything-
i'm moving to france 4 years ago
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 5:22 PM
It doesn't matter whose face is on the wall when the wall comes down, does it?
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 5:24 PM
well, if obama's face is on the wall and the wall is torn down, then that's just racist. like everything else and everybody who has the unmitigated gall to not love obama this year
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 5:31 PM
Turd Ferguson!
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 5:39 PM
@5:02 - so what? i never said anything about obama. i have my own viewpoint...shocking, i know.
here's another: partisan politics stifles ideas, and the lack of good ideas in govt. is our real problem
Posted by Paio Laa | October 10, 2008 6:11 PM
actually the cost of the iraq war is here http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home
not a trillion, nice try.

I'm all for a 3rd party candidate... unfortunately, it would just be a wasted vote. If it wasn't for Nader causing Gore to lose, we wouldn't be in the messes that we are in now.
Obama is clearly the only reasonable choice for reasonable people. He ain't perfect, but there is no doubt that he is the best chance, as Americans, we've got.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 7:01 PM
did you not see "recount"- ???
nader was practically ineffectual in 2000, esp. since bush/cheney/rove/baker stole the election
and thousands of people were turned away on election day, not to mention the infamous purge list-
if you want to have a serious 3rd party in 100 years w/ a real 3rd party candidate that can actually win, your only hope is nader/gonzalez '08
don't believe the great white hype that is obama!

@5:22
If you were wearing a Palin shirt you should have been fired. Kudos to whoever fired you.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 9:21 PM
the guitar sounded good
Posted by obamawillwinanyway | October 11, 2008 12:18 AM
a palin t-shirt should get you promoted for having balls.
an obama t-shirt at this point is like wearing a light pink polo.

Sorry but Craig's comments are completely false. The Fairness Doctrine which required equal time for opposing political points of view since 1949 was repealed in 1987 under Reagan (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_doctrine). Obviously Craig's bosses just didn't want an Obama shirt on the show and gave him this bullshit excuse, which he stupidly bought. I am not impressed. Craig should have done a little research, just hitting wiki would have been enough to know he's been lied to by his obviously anti-Obama bosses.

i wish this band had more than one good song.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 9:00 AM
Craig Ferguson's comments weren't completely false. He just confused the repealed 'Fairness Doctrine' with the still-active 'Equal Time Rule':
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal-time_rule
As noted at the wiki article on the Equal Time Rule, it's something that's often done. And Ferguson was really funny...
It's surprising that it extends to what t-shirt someone wears, but perhaps it's more strict - or at least networks more strictly apply it - this close the election.

they have two good albums
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 11:36 AM
two fantastic* albums
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 11:40 AM
no, they have like 3 good songs at best
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:11 PM
oh wow, wearing an obama shirt, how edgy and punk
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:13 PM
Anyone notice you don't hear from certain wealthy rock stars come elections?
Unrelatedly, i wonder who Jack White is voting for. My own vote depends on this.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:51 PM
it really speaks to how self-involved, clueless, and utterly un-radical this "scene" is. this has nothing to do with policies. it has to do with looking cool. the t-shirt he ended up being "forced" to wear is easily much better.
did the clash need a fucking blog? i can't wait for people to forget this band ever existed in a few months, only to be reminded of them by a mediocre pitchfork review of their next album: "oh yeah, the guy with the obama t-shirt."
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:51 PM
^^^my thoughts exactly
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 2:23 PM
@ 10/10 8:30 PM: This time around, Nader's running as an independent, not on the Green Party ticket. I don't see how voting for an independent would help build up any parties to become an alternative to the two main parties.

demanding free health care in the midst of a systemic economic collapse?
is no age gonna start donating royalty checks?
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 2:41 PM
this is all fine and dandy but it doesn't make up for the fact that No Age sucks...and in all reality that Obama shirt is as played out as their no age shirt.
...and it does suck that we all are pretty jaded about the concept that is free healthcare but pointing that out on late nite tv through a tshirt is pretty lame and douchey.
where's Ross Perot when u need him?
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 3:14 PM
Craig Ferguson is cool. No Age sucks!
Posted by DH Bennett | October 11, 2008 4:04 PM

happy canadian thanksgiving!

no age are really good. if you'd like i can tell you a gr8 way to download albums that you don't have.
i don't think wearing an obama shirt could have meant to be radical - just an endorsement. his new shirt was much better and a more important statement.
there are multiple reasons why it's NOT stupid and actually very cool that Randy Randall wore a shirt that read FREE HEALTH CARE. the first is that they are having a benefit show tomorrow in echo park [which is in LA for those of you who "hate" LA] to support free health care. the second is that if this administration had raised our taxes at the onset of the iraqi war - y'know, so the american people could literally support our troops - we'd have four or five fewer problems. all FREE HEALTH CARE means is higher taxes, especially to the upper class, to up our capacity for social services. it could also mean COLLEGE for all people who want to go to college - NOT THE ARMY for many people who do. apparently this sort of system works pretty well in a place we sometimes refer to as "europe."
anyway, they're a great band and I really like craig ferguson also. it's weird that No Age didn't play in front of him...

Every single person who mentioned politics here so far has no idea what they are talking about.
Good job guys.
And for the record, Sarah Palin should be spayed.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 9:19 PM
@ ggggggg - the free health care system works well in europe? since when? have you ever been to a european hospital? the quality of care sucks
also, yeah great it's an endorsement from some dude in some mediocre band, i'm sure he knows a shitload about politics and i should totally care what he thinks about
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 9:25 PM
the quality of care fucking sucks here too. have you been to the hood? of westchester? many american hospitals can be real fucking horror shows
you dont care, i do care. gr8!

I LOVE IT HOW AMERICA IS SO FUCKING GOING DOWN THE DRAIN THESE DAYS. Whay don't you stop babling on about your taxes, you are fucking slaves even in a taxeless world, you pay for everything through the roof, including your war, your fatness, your correctness, your racism and your conservative. No Age is a good band. I have seen the clash way to many times to know that.
Another thing, this site is read by other folks outside of the US of almighty A but maybe if you got your head out of Palin's passport less ass, you would know that.
