Bookeaters

The above collage illustrates a sample of the entertainers scheduled to perform at Town Hall in NYC tonight (10/7) as part of the 826NYC benefit called Revenge of the Bookeaters. Tickets are still on sale, PLUS I have a pair of tickets to giveaway to someone who can't afford the price. If you want them, e-mail BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: bookeaters). Include your first and last name. One winner will be picked at random and contacted ASAP.

Zach Rogue didn't show. beside DOE and Paul Simon it was very boring. even the inspiring mission of 826 was overshadowed by lackluster and apathetic appearances.

seriously it was the best night of entertainment, mr. anonymous at 11:28 is totally wrong. thao nguyen was great, paul simon amazing, the south african woman that followed excellent. it was really stellar.

I think every 826NYC benefit to date has been lackluster.

Zach Rogue injured himself. He cancelled a show on Monday too.

Although I have seen some average performances, last years bookeaters benefit hosted by Demetri Martin was great. Grizzly Bear, Jim James, Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning (w/ Feist), Britt Daniel... that was a stellar line-up that lived up to the hype.

On a non music note, I am a big fan of Ira Glass and This American Life. Am curious about his portion of the show. I'd assume that it was a interesting and poignant tale.
