Sharon Jones will be performing at the Barack benefit going down at Southpaw Thursday night. Sharon Jones will be performing at the Perez Hilton party at Highline Ballroom on Friday night with Yo Majesty, Lady Gaga, Semi Precious Weapons & more TBA
I think the Menahan Band is playing the Southpaw show too (in addition to Budos Band and Naomi Shelton). Menahan are also opening for Sharon on the following dates...

SPW is the fucking Led Zeps of today. They are fucking hot, and fun, and play their asses off. Fuck nyc haters. BTW Dap Kings are amazing.

Last night's show was hot. The Gospel queens started with bosco mann on bass and tom brenneck playing guitar. menahan followed. charles bradley joined them for two songs. then came the budos. finally the dap kings played a brief set where they showcased a few new tunes and sharon got to show off her obama earrings. Her obama rap to kick off the set was phenomenal. She held that room in the palm of her hand.
