Oh god. their new album is so indescribably terrible. It's not backlash. I love their first album. But the new album is just god awful, and honestly NY really doesn't need them to come back yet again. Why do these washed-up buzz bands insist on playing here 50 times a year. Then they wonder why people get tired of them.

it's pretty indefensible, but I hate the keyboard/tuba player. he hops around like an asshole on stage, looks like a kid who played too much Nintendo, and is generally untalented. I miss the original bassist.

both records are pretty similar, guys. this has nothing to do with the quality of their music and everything to do with imbeciles who feel the need to move on to the next discovery.

They should never have been a discovery in the first place.

No, I still stand by the fact that the first record was great. And yes, I agree that he original bassist was way better than the new one. (I base that on apparent skill and more modest appearance, I'm not a bass player so what do I know). I just don't understand why these bands come here that much. Hasn't tapes 'n tapes been here, like, 4 times already this year? People complain that audiences are fickle, but come on. No wonder. How are we supposed to not get bored when labels ram that shit down our throats.

so don't go to the show. obviously there is a demand if they are coming. let the people who want to go enjoy it. i've never even listened to this band but the backlash is so dumb. if you don't want to go just don't go...no need to complain about the existence of the show.
