Dirtbombs are great.... until that drummer grabs the mic at the end and starts, um, vocalising.... just like in that photo.... I guess that means they'll be doing that again tonight at Maxwells, huh?

Who's the new bassist?

what happened to troy?!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2008 2:33 PM

Not sure if this is the real reason but I heard all the touring was taking it's toll on Troy and that's why he quit/left.

wow.... there were literally like 60 people at maxwells tonight.... kind of a bummer.... good set, but the band definitely seemed affected by it.... maybe it's the economy, or the debates, or the fact that they've played there THREE TIMES this year without changing up their set all that much....

they still killed it at maxwell's... one of the best i have seen them.. the openeing band from brooklyn was pretty nuts too.. cinema, cinema (?)... the singer mentioned some shit about smack and was a little psycho.. but it was good. new bass player isnt bad for DB's but i miss Troy. did they do the same set at BMTemmple th enight before>

the turnout at maxwells was way light compared to what it is usually, but mick was funny when they took the stage and he said, "maybe we've played here too many times this year"..... they handled it well, but the set did seem a lot shorter than usual.

cinema cinema were horrible.

i thought it was one of the better times i have seen them. the small crowd at maxwells was a bummer but they reacted the right way, typical dirtbombs, by killing it. killing it. so much better than any of the average touring bands at the moment...saw the last 2 songs of cinema, cinema from brooklyn - not bad... strong and crazy and off-kilter, thought it worked. dbombs were very very ferocious after a joke-like start and some funny comments. they showed why they are so relevant after all this time. i thought the dbombs were more intense at southpaw the next nite. nothing like a band with wisdom making brooklyn look foolish. detroitcitybaby
