the Friday night in dance w/ Showtrotta
DOWNLOAD: Streetlab - EP Release Exclusive Mix (MP3)

Friday night, 10/31, Halloween!, is here and boasts an impressive amount of great bands spread all over the city. Have fun trick or treating around to as many as you can or pick one and get down:
There's something for both the minimal and maximal-minded at Public Assembly with minimal techno pioneer, Daniel Bell, deejaying the Bunker's Halloween party in the back room while the Flashing Lights' crew (Nick Catchdubs, Jubilee, and Ayres) celebrate Rave-o-ween in the front. Info on both below:

11pm-4am, 21+, $15

Another well-balanced party is happening just north of there at the recently re-opened Studio B in Greenpoint with two labels whose names are conveniently Halloween-themed: Ghostly & Throne of Blood.

Advanced tickets available here.
Also happening in BK:
War and Moon (who throw some great parties) are "Working the Knobs" at Hugs with Cousin Cole, Rezound, and Project Matt and our People Don't Dance No More friends Robot Blair and David Bruno, who describes the party as:
"...musically diverse, disco encouraged party...Costumes, disco, and debauchery. Just like a normal Saturday night 1979..."
Check out a mix Robot Blair just posted a couple of days ago here.

In Manhattan, things get disco-ey in an updated way thanks to DFA, who are throwing a party at the Tribeca Grand featuring deejays Fred Flinstone, Justin Miller, Jacques Renault, 2 Mandy DJ's, Prince Language, Sebastian Kim, Mike Nouveau, and a live performance from Yacht. More info on that here.
Also in Manhattan:
- A Halloween Bass Invasion is happening at Love.
- Not too far away from there (if you're going to be doing some running around) Ursula 1000 is at APT. Download the Winter 2008 Mix he just posted here.
