the New Pornographers cancel New Years Eve show
From the issue of "The Fake Headlines" (the NP's' e-mail newsletter) that went out yesterday:They left out the part about tickets already being on sale (which they no longer are). I assume refunds are being given to anyone that shelled out the $66.50 for a ticket.As unfortunately wrongly reported on other sites we will NOT be playing a show in New York for Irving Plaza for New Years Eve. It is indeed true as written about here before we were planning on putting together a show in New York, but due to unfortunate circumstances and a few key acts falling through we decided it would be best to wait until we could put together the best show possible for such an auspicious day. In any event, Irving Plaza will get somebody else just as great and there will still be a lot of great options for you for New Years. Stay tuned if it happens to be anyone related to us!

instead, go to my morning jacket's new year's extraveganza at the garden ... it's cheaper, and will almost certainly be the best show in town that night (or just about any night) ... these guys are the real deal ...

I couldn't go, so this ended up working out after all...
I paid $15 to see radiohead at Susquehanna bank center on August 12th... even though they were lawn seats, they were amazing.

You mean, you would have liked to see the NP's on New Year's Eve but you have other plans? 'Cuz it seems they are planning a show for another venue in NYC that night.
