i'd actually take his campaign for Obama more seriously if he were a US taxpayer.

Anyone been to Roseland with a ticket for Mezz standing room? Do they still give you access to the floor? If not, is it at least easy to sneak through? I don't want to be stuck sitting down for this show...
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 2:16 PM
they dont check. you have the option to stand downstairs or go upstairs.
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 2:18 PM
i'm sure there will be national tix at door tonight. what are approx set times???
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 2:41 PM
Will Grizzly Bear play any Department of Eagles songs?
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 3:03 PM
The Residents at Blender Theatre.
Nobody cares about that one?
Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2008 3:18 PM
It is retarded(*) that the Against Me!/Ted Leo/Future of the Left shows tonight and tomorrow haven't sold out. How long has it been since Mclusky played here?
(*) And I say this as a proud Special Needs child.

I thought Against Me! headlined Terminal 5 already. Now they can't sell out Webster Hall?

The National were really fucking good tonight. Opened the set with Son. Grizzly Bear sounded great too. Very satisfying Friday night :)
Posted by michaelways | October 11, 2008 1:37 AM
Of Montreal kinda blew the top off Roseland. Maybe musically national is more proficient, but show for dollar I don't see how the national could have topped Mr Barnes today.
another way of looking at it--- tonight was a GREAT night for music lovers. tough choice. dont regret mine.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 2:07 AM
for real BV, we need to remind you of the residents ??
Posted by danidin | October 11, 2008 2:08 AM
grizzly bear were fantastic tonight despite the fact that sound sucks at Hammerstein
I was happy
but Stella wasn't very funny
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 2:23 AM
I thought sound was great at Hammerstein. Even a bit too loud at times. I was sitting in the upper section though, so maybe you had a different listening point at the floor.
The National set was epic long. Did they play nearly 20 songs?

Highlight of night at Of Montreal was their cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit - for first of 2 encore songs. The crowd went crazy when they heard it.
Posted by Renee | October 11, 2008 2:48 AM
of montreal ftw!
live horse!
shaving cream!
hundreds of 14 yr. old girls!
ninjas!
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 3:34 AM
and don't forget Kevin Barnes wearing practically nothing for many songs.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 3:46 AM
of Montreal was nuts tonight
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 3:58 AM
Of Montreal was tremendous last night. I couldn't believe how young the crowd was, holy crap did I feel old.
Posted by mp77 | October 11, 2008 10:04 AM
of montreal was fun. it was really hot in there and the crowd was hella young. love is all were probably the highlight of the night.
anyone got a setlist for the national? I'm wondering if I made the wrong decision going to that shithole known as roseland ballroom.
Posted by wembly | October 11, 2008 10:12 AM
It kind of seemed like NYU bused in their entire freshman class to that Of Montreal show, but it ruled. That horse must have been heavily sedated. Did anyone else see Jens Lekman hanging in the VIP section? Does that dude live here now or something?
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 10:31 AM
I got to roseland really early and I was in the front center for Of Montreal. It was the scariest/best thing ever! So close but so squished in. I got the Love is All setlist...if anyones interested ill post it?
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 10:43 AM
Thanks of Montreal, that was sick. I don't remember this year having that much fun at a show (maybe H&LA's). Now I understand the appeal of having a horse shaped poster!

Best things about The National last night:
They opened the set with Son
Abel and All The Wine were played in succession
New Song that reminded me of The Zombies, with horns.
Velvet Underground cover

Stella bombed last night. It was bad
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:34 PM
"Stella bombed last night. It was bad"
Give me a break. They didn't have a chance with that smug crowd. Nobody in that room even tried to like Stella.
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 1:56 PM
i lost $$$ on the goddamned rays last night.
turds
Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2008 2:28 PM
I didn't think Stella bombed. It was a very stiff crowd. I felt weird for dancing, then I realized that I wasn't the lamo in the room.
