Dear All,
Come celebrate on tonight, Thursday, Oct 30th, the successful completion of the first edition of the Imagine Science Film Festival 2008. The Closing Award Ceremony starts at 9PM at Kenny's Castaways bar in the West Village. Juan-Carlos Lopez, chief editor of Nature Medicine, will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.
With the participation of jury members of 2008, the Nature Scientific Merit Award and the Nature People's Choice will be announced. Both awards consist of $2,500 cash prizes. The winning films successfully incorporate science in a narrative intrigue a compelling and credible manner.
- The Nature Scientific Merit Award was decided by a jury composed of a scientist, screenwriter, and journalist (More info about jury
members at http://www.imaginesciencefilms.com/festival-2/jury/). The criteria set by the jury was a coherent story within a short film
framework in which science played a lead role in the film and the treatment be imaginative.
- The Nature People's Choice Award was given to the short film that received the highest audience votes during the 7-day of ISFF screenings.
Both films will be screened after the award ceremony and directors will participate in a Q & A afterwards.
We close the festival with a big bang concert. It's a bit dirty, a bit grimy, a bit scrungy, its New York, Nashville, Gainseville and Atlanta born Tigers and Monkeys. (Band info at http://www.tigersandmonkeys.com/)

@Anon3:33 - Are those anonymous names for well known bands that want to keep the Piano's Anniversary show "secret"? I ask because I don't recognize any of those names.

@4:04 I works fine for me, it's really bad and not funny. Plays like a student film.

anon 4:54,
If you took the time to use the "shift" and ";" keys at the same time to make a ":" (that would be a 'colon'), you should give someone the goddamned common courtesy to write out the words "Okay, thanks, good bye" instead of the primitive, text-speak that makes you look like an un-educated, lazy DoucheTwinkie.
This is Brooklyn Vegan Dot Com, for Chrissakes... act a bit more mature.
