that union pool story is not even close to an isolated incident. they don't hide it; they don't like black people, hispanic people, asian people and i'm sure if an arab person went in there they'd take two hours to serve him or her too. i have no idea why people continue to go there in general because the staff is so insanely rude and it's just a shit hole. Union Pool represents everything that's wrong with williamsburg. it's a terrible place and the fact that shit like that can keep happening in a neighborhood that's supposed to be one of the most liberal and forward thinking in America and NOT have some action taken against it is beyond me.

A million vegan restaurants, anti-bush protests and animal-cruelty shops (which is awesome and respectable) but at the same time, human rights should be a top priority as well.
