80s Hardcore

80s Hardcore bill themselves as "The World's First and Only 80s Hardcore Cover Band", and although their MySpace doesn't list any of the members, we do know that the masked man is Vice co-founder Gavin McInnes, who if you didn't know last week, you may have learned about in that recent "hipster" "news" video.

80s Hardcore is playing a free show at Cake Shop tonight/Friday (which means there are at least two reasons to go to Cake Shop today). What songs do I think they will play? Funny you should ask because their entire planned setlist, along with the flyer and a video, is below...

80s Hardcore

Cro Mags "Hard Times"
D.R.I. "Rather be Sleeping"
Minor Threat "Straight Edge"
Black Flag "Wasted"
Angry Samoans "Lights Out"
Circle Jerks "Coup D'Etat"
Fear "Livin in the City"
Descendents "I'm not a Loser"
Agnostic Front "Victim in Pain"
Black Flag "Six Pack"
Iron Cross "Crucified"
Suicidal Tendencies "Institutionalized"
Bad Brains "Right Brigade"

This isn't halloween, I would rather go see a real hardcore show. Maybe I would stop by for a free beer, somehow I feel like the dude who founded Vice can afford to give me that.

That being said, I'm going to pay 15$ for all-you-can-drink Coney Island Lager, free Chipotle, and bloody marys all night. And hang out with roller derby girls.

That seems more hardcore to me.

complainers, complainers. This looks like the perfect drunken way to spend a Friday night to me.

the first all '80s hardcore cover band was Good Clean Fun...when people didn't know their songs they would do all cover sets.

Oh man, Good Clean Fun, what ever happened to those guys?

The myspace song? Really?

In Defense of All Life is easily one of the funniest songs I have ever heard in my life.
