Amebix

As previously announced, Amebix have reunited, but prepare to get even more nuts... 'cause the crust punk godfathers have scheduled a short run of the US including a single show at Bowery Ballroom on January 29th with Kylesa, Thought Crime and Atakke! Tickets for the NYC show are on sale.

Amebix is currently accepting pre-orders for their Risen DVD, which is due "summer 2008" (translation: not sure when).

Kylesa recently toured with, and played the Music Hall Of Williamsburg with, Pinback.

Amebix also have shows scheduled with Annihilation Time, Tragedy, Severed Head Of State, Morne, Behind Enemy Lines and many others. All dates are below...

Poor man's heavy metal? Are you for real? These guys are legendary. My fave album is Arise. Before there was the metal scene, there were bands like Amebix. Crusty, dirty and thoughtful, political and dark these guys were one of the bands that set a momentum that still plays itself out today. Take your heavy metal and shove is up your sorry commercial rich boy arse!

to comment on some comments, metal was around before Amebix even had their first practice. And although they looked and lived like punks, I feel that thier music goes beyond punk or metal and is just plan heavy. I feel that truly, they are an extension of Motorhead. Just like Venom is but they are on the punk side instead of the evil side. cheers!
