Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 11:17 AM

MPP is fucking epic. listening party was sick. will they pull an AC and play all new, unheard material on this tour? i hope not.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 11:27 AM

should we go forwards or backwards for a little

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 11:28 AM

what's the significance of the album title? is that a venue at which they aspire to perform?

Posted by wembley | November 6, 2008 11:28 AM

i'm sure they'll have a more proper US tour to support their new album, right? no matter, i'm still heading down to New York.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 11:31 AM

outdoor venue in Columbia, MD roughly a half an hour south of Baltimore, the city that Animal Collective is originally from. Pretty sweet place to see a show, actually...

Posted by it's an | November 6, 2008 12:08 PM

wembley is of a child-like stupidity.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 12:10 PM

i wonder what bad animal collective music would sound like.

Posted by jp | November 6, 2008 12:33 PM

sold out

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 12:55 PM

i'd pay $30 in a heartbeat for this show. and i did.

Posted by jack | November 6, 2008 1:02 PM

Sold out? Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Cheney in 2012!

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:02 PM

sweet place to see a show there? you crazy? that shit SUCKS!

saw radiohead and tool there. not ideal. and the organization of traffic is ABSURD.

this is not the full tour. expect a major headlining tour at bigger venues.

this new album is going to be EPIC

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:02 PM

i just pulled 2 tix!

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:10 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:11 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:21 PM

fucking hell, this band makes me weep tears of joy. unless i am at the inauguration i am here.

1:39....not falling for it...you little troll you. almost had me for a second.

Posted by sloweducation | November 6, 2008 1:46 PM

make sure you see this band live. amazing show, amazing power, amazing sound.

it will leave you happy.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 1:59 PM

I saw them live a couple of years ago in Towson, Maryland. It was a good show but some crazy old lady turned around during the show and kept asking me why I wasn't dancing. I said because I couldn't figure out how to dance to them. For the majority of their music, I find it difficult to get into a dancing groove. Is it just me? Anyway, she kept talking to me so I had to move.

WARNING!!

If you go see them play, watch out for Crazy old ladies.

Posted by Gman | November 6, 2008 2:08 PM

that crazy old lady wanted to suck you.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 2:15 PM

@11:27

Avey said in a recent interview that they won't be playing anything newer than MPP on tour

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 2:46 PM

total lol @ 2:08. i am almost certain that was animal collective members deakin's(josh dibb) mom. that show was a benefit for her new age hippie counseling center

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 4:13 PM

I dont think that Deakin is on this new album. Just something i heard.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 4:24 PM

you name it merriweather post pavilion, then you dont play DC or Baltimore????

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 4:32 PM

"I find it difficult to get into a dancing groove. Is it just me?"
just you

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 5:20 PM

finally bv, finally. definitely the most important band making music right now. this record is going to kill.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 5:46 PM

i was in a record store talking to the gynecologist dude or whatever his character is and he said a bigger tour is in the works.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 6:37 PM

anybody know if/where i can buy tickets for the paris show?

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2008 7:05 PM

try fnac.com

Posted by cd57 | November 6, 2008 9:12 PM

hmmmm.... I bought my ticket like an hour ago...

I hope they don't play only the new album. I enjoy myself better when I know most of the songs and I will surely not know any new song by then.. maybe 1 or 2.

Either way, you know a band it's truly breaking ground when imitators start piling up, and there are A LOT of AC wannabes out there.

Posted by dee | November 6, 2008 10:39 PM

yay! got my 2 tickets..hope it sells out and they add 1/21 as well...

Posted by Pedro | November 6, 2008 11:31 PM

I got 2 tickets. thank god i saved my money a little bit and had enough for me an my girl. Saw them first time this summer at APW and it was amazing. so lud and i only had heard 2 of the songs they played. TRust me to the dude who said he likes to know the songs. That is a stupid way to look at live performances. it's awesome when u see a band u never heard b4 or get to hear new tracks for the first time. That is if the tracks are as dope as the new AC stuff...MPP is gonna be fuckin ill

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2008 1:50 AM

My Girls studio version slays all newbz and custies

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2008 2:23 PM

Obviously, I know what Merriweather Post Pavillion is. I've been there quite a few times (saw Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Bob Dylan, Belle & Sebastian there, among others). I was just wondering why they decided to name their album after a venue they have no chance of ever filling. I had forgot that they are from the area.

On a side note, I find it funny that someone calls me stupid, but Anon 1:50 gets no insults at all. Oh well, I'm kinda used to it. Wouldn't be the first time someone called me stupid on BV. It's almost a compliment, judging by the intelligent comments above.

Posted by wembley | November 7, 2008 2:48 PM

thanks cd57!

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2008 5:48 PM

BV has justified its existence.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2008 3:02 PM

i wonder whose going to open for them
i hope someone really good to get me hyped and ready for AC

then again if it's some one bad.... the anticipation will seem like forever
which is good so that it all doesn't happen tooo soon and ends in a flash like what it usually feels like for their shows
explosion of happiness that you can never grasp to

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2008 3:24 PM

i hope they play bohemian rasberry

Posted by Anonymous | November 11, 2008 10:31 AM

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2008 11:18 PM
