People with a ton of money to blow, apparently.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 9:45 AM

yeah... this is CRAZY expensive. and Family Guy sucks anyway.

Posted by wembley | November 24, 2008 9:53 AM

"Family Guy sucks anyway"

How can you possibly think Family Guy sucks?

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:02 AM

it's not funny.

and it also doesn't help that is airs after "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons"... two of the best animated shows ever.

Posted by wembley | November 24, 2008 10:07 AM

Maybe you aren't smart enough to get Family Guy

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:10 AM

one hardly needs to be smart to get family guy

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:18 AM

south park is 100 times better. family guy just has a bunch of random references into a banal story line. i wish i had seth mcfarlane's money, though.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:29 AM

Family Guy's references are often genius

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:34 AM

and it also doesn't help that is airs after "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons"... two of the best animated shows ever.

King of the Hill one of the best animated shows ever....you're joking right??

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:36 AM

King of the Hill is garbage.

Anyone who thinks that King of the Hill is better than Family Guy needs to do some serious self-evaluation.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 11:05 AM

King of the Hill is by far the WORST cartoon ever. The only reason that shit show ever lasted as long as it did was because of the loser hillbillies and rednecks in the south. Fuck that show.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 11:09 AM

I love Family Guy, but the live show seems pointless

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 11:15 AM

Each song is interrupted every thirty seconds to jam in a lengthy, inane pop culture reference in an attempt to make the show's fans feel they haven't wasted all the mental jism they've spent humping their cable boxes. The show's final number, "Your Life Matters, Your Existence is Relevant!" will be cut for time.

Family Guy fell off son. It used to be funny but then the success went to their heads and they started getting stupid.

I got free tix from fox. can't wait. Some of you suckas paid how much for bon iver or sigur ros??

I saw the Family Guy group do I live reading at Town Hall a couple of years ago. The entire experience was fantastic. They read a classic episode with plenty of amusing ad-libbing, while proceeding to get drunk on stage.

Seth MacFarlane is a genius and Family Guy is an excellent show. Plenty of people don't appreciate the show's subtle genius. Maybe they don't get the references. Maybe they don't like the crass humor. All I know is I watch the show religiously and love it.

I can't believe some dinkus thinks King of the Hill is funnier than Family Guy.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 2:55 PM

Family Guy us pretty funny, and at least it isn't as painful to watch as current Simpsons episodes are.

That said who in the fuck would spend a penny to go see the actors sing?

The songs are the weakest part of Family Guy, it's just showtunes with silly lyrics thrown in. Family Guy doesn't hold a candle to classic Simpsons musical numbers.

MONORAIL! WHO NEEDS THE KWIK-E-MART? STONECUTTERS!

(yes, I am a nerd!)

This would be cool if it was in a smaller venue... but Carnegie Hall? Gimmee a break....

i just came back from the show - it was awesome...i do think family guy is getting kinda old, but tonight was actually quite funny

SPOILER (in case ur going to tomorrow's show): they do the 100th episode where Stewie kills Louis...the orchestra they had was great, all the hillbillies from long island and yuppies from westchester came; it was a very odd crowd, but the show was quite good

and their singing was good, ur right - u dont pay to see the actors sing, but then do u really pay to see anyone sing; i wouldnt pay to see ezra sing, but love vampire weekend live

please, go ahead brooklyn vegan commenters who know nothing of good music and sit at home bitching about how bad everything that BV recommends is, make fun of this post

are you guys really calling others idiots for liking king of the hill? and also, saying that rednecks are fans of it? what? do you not realize that king of the hill is making fun of republican texas rednecks? you're just like the people who thought mike judge's first show, beavis and butthead, was promoting that type of teenage behavior.

you commentators are dumb, this is why you guys are not writing the blog

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 11:35 PM

king of hill sorta makes fun of texas and republicans, but mostly makes fun of liberals and fey arty types. there's rarely an episode without a whiny art teacher or a phony wackjob holistic therapist. it's not a simple send up of texas and conservative values.

King of the Hill > Family Guy

The Critic= Family Guy+The Simpsons+King of the Hill

The show was definitely worth it. If you don't like Family Guy, then don't go -- simple as that. Are you all really that bored and devoid of existence that you feel the need spew so much hate out onto the Internet?

So some people like King of the Hill and some people like Family Guy... I mean there were people who ACTUALLY liked that idiot Sarah Palin who almost became our first Vice Presitard (nothing against her gender whatsoever...if male moron had been in her place I would have been equally frightened).

No one has even mentioned Futurama yet, so shame on you. American Dad is even pretty damn funny. South Park has had some amazingly necessary moments for our diseased pop culture. God forbid any of us pick up a book...or change the channel. 'Nuff said.

Some Guy..people on this board hate on everything.I don't recall one thread where everyone agreed.

Are the people who call Family Guy subtle the same ones who are dumping on King of the Hill?

If you ever actually WATCHED King of the Hill, you'd realize that it is full of the funniest, deeply felt, layered characters on any sitcom today. The writing on that show is consistently top-notch, always tackling new and diverse story-lines.

Those who think it's just about a bunch of dumb hicks from the south need to get their heads examined.

Family Guy on the other hand is just a lame Simpsons ripoff that recycles the same story lines and obvious pop culture references. There is no character development whatsoever. The humor of the show relies solely on non-sequiturs that grow tiresome after watching a few episodes.

I was there for the 1st show at Carnegie hall last night (11/24)

The show was 3 hours and very humerous.
Of course you must be a Family Guy fan but I guarantee you will become one after last nights performance.

The talent of the individualy on stage was amazing. Pure genious.

They did epsidodes 100 and 101 in full and had a backdrop screen showing animation of the show of scenes that needed visual understanding.

You are better off spending your money on a night of laughs instead of throwing it away in the stock market.

Hats off to the cast and a job well done.

King on the Hill character development??? What a homo. Its a cartoon loser

From an outsider's (ie. not american) point of view I think you lot don't get a lot of Family Guy or The Simpsons or South Park. It's all good and funny and you need to learn to laugh at yourselves more. You live in a bubble like the rest of us, but most of the time you have to be outside it to see it. I haven't got bad teeth or talk like a twat, but then I'm not british, I'm Spanish. Anyway, the point of this story is, don't take everything so seriously and appreciate the creativeness of Seth and the whole crew. The stories are excellent, the songs are brilliant, the flashbacks are genious sometimes and Peter Griffin is all you would ever want to be if you could get away with it. Come on, we've come up with Mr Bean, Eurovision song contest, La Macarena and croissants. You should be proud.
