Killing Time

Killing Time played the main support for Bad Brains last night at Irving Plaza. The influential NY hardcore band formerly known as Raw Deal played a quick 30 minute slot setting the stage for the DC legends. Focusing entirely on their classic debut release Brightside (aside from one song "Happy Hour"), the NYHC powerhouse made up for sloppy play w/ a sheer hard assault that had the diehards slamming and piling up in the front. Frontman Anthony Comunale reminisced about seeing Bad Brains back in 81/82 and Bad Brains being THE hardcore band of all time. This was also the first time the bands ever played on the same bill. Not the most impressive performance, but for a band nearly two decades into their career it was great to see them having fun up there, and fun was had by all who appreciate angry, negative music.

Killing Time

No Redeeming Social Value went on before them, but I got there too late to catch their set. More pictures of Killing Time below....

Killing Time is one of the most underated hardcore punk bands of all time. The album Brightside is very technical with amazing riffs and still sounds fresh today. These guys just love to play music and I wish them all the luck in the world as they record a new album and continue to play shows.

Brightside is indeed dope. Was rocking that last night. 99% of the dorks who frequent this site never hit CB's to see a HC matinee. And, yeah...that makes me much cooler than you.

So true! They look like they ignored the past 15 years.

Would florence henderson haircuts and guyliner make you dicks happier? Style is (supposed to be irrelevant) in hardcore.

After 20+ years these guys are playing together for fun - yet they can still draw a few hundred kids. Let's see what utterly unmemorable band-du-jour featured on this site will be do that in 2019, let alone 2029.
