Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week
Anathallo's Canopy Glow is the standout music release this week, one that is sure to end up on many "best of 2008" album lists.
Other albums released this week that I have heard and can definitely recommend include Steve Earle and the Del McCoury Band's The Mountain, Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan's Sunday at Devil Dirt, Max Tundra's Parallax Error Beheads You, and Momus's Joemus.
Technically, it's not a reissue, but Belle and Sebastian's The BBC Sessions is an amazing set of recordings from one of my favorite bands.
Reissues this week include several discs by Dead Can Dance and three vinyl albums from Ida.

Isobel double-threat today!
Both the Belle and Sebastian BBC Sessions Album (make sure you get the 2-disc "limited edition") and the Isobel & Mark Lanegan album are great.
The BBC album is a must-have for any B&S fan. I'm sure any big fan already has bootlegs of the "unreleased" songs, but the quality is great and the recordings of everything else is really fun to listen to. Stuart sings both parts on the "Lazy Line Painter Jane"... which surprisingly sounds pretty good. I don't think I have heard that recording before I got this album. The EP version of "Lazy Jane" with Monica Queen is amazing though.
The covers on the 2nd CD are also totally worth the purchase. "The Boys Are Back in Town" is pretty friggen great.
