The Killers should be opening for M83.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 2:12 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 2:15 PM

fuck I read that this morning and I was like, WHAT??? should be the other way around!
hope they release more tickets, the show is sold out

I love M83, but those that say that The Killers should be opening for them are just plain dumb.

deerhunter is better than m83

The Killers shouldn't be opening for anybody. They really suck. Okay, they can MAYBE open for the Bear Hands bassist if he were solo, as he really, really sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 3:28 PM

whateverrrrrrrrrr. good for them, more exposure.

If I had extra money and friends I'd be checking this out.

This is a really, really odd match. M83 is nowhere near pop enough to complement the Killers.

odd pairing...

another chance to make fun of kings of leon?? i hope m83 makes some money out of this. did they hire a new booking agent or what?

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2008 7:01 AM

did anyone see the killers rock fuse?

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2008 11:00 AM

man this is lame, why does m83 have to tour with mainstream rock bands, they have plenty of talent to showcase as a solo act across the US!

Posted by Anonymous | November 28, 2008 8:17 PM

yeah id say odd paring, i saw m83 couple weeks back w/ school of seven bells. VERY INDIE! nothing wrong w/ that just saying. dont see how m83 fits w/ killers maybe they change there set a lil, but its like i dunno. btw token black guy at m83 for the win!!

I don't think killers fans will get m83 - really odd bill. Saturdays = Youth is easily one of my favorite albums of the year. Have you seen M83's own Top 10 list? there are some surprises on there!

you can stream the songs on his list over at www.erockster.com

i saw m83 with the killers, and although i had never heard of them i really liked their music. i don't think it's fair to say that killers fans won't "get" m83...sure it was an odd bill but perhaps it's just a way to reach more people and expose their music to people who may not have necessarily listened to them otherwise.

early start no?

the show on january 22nd was in ypselanti not detroit! I'd know cause i was there!:P

M83 is sick. If only I didn't have to listen to a full Killers set off their new album afterwards. Without a doubt this bill is backwards.

Posted by Anonymous | January 29, 2009 12:21 AM

The Killers are ok but not special in any way. They're just a mix of what's been done before.
M83 is of an other league I think. Their music is a bit more dark and dreamy and therefore maby less commercial and popular. The killers is for the masses, M83 for critical listeners.

m83 was great before they sucked. killers suck and maybe someday after they break up and form better bands they'll be great.
