Kings of Leon

For a minute I thought that meant the show was sold out which was like "whoah!". Maybe it is almost sold out. I could just get a pair in the 400 section, so who knows. Either way, this promotion is just because they are releasing good seats (supposedly because they changed production). Good seats on sale at 5PM.

Good seats, bad seats, either way, not interested.

this confuses me so much. there is no chance that KOL can sell out MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:23 PM

didnt you see them sucking at APW? who needs this crap? And "good seats" probably means seats in back of or side of stage.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:28 PM

Kings of Leon are awesome. Especially their first 2 albums. New albums had a couple ok cuts but not very strong overall.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:34 PM

theyre not "good seats", they're "Amazing Seats"!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:35 PM

they were absolutely douchey on SNL a month or so ago

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:40 PM

they're selling loads of advance tickets, cross the country my friends. It's for real. Moves like this help people think about it, look for more tix, etc.

The move to an arena band left us with some shitty arena rock songs on this record, for sure, but don't deny that they're getting bigger....

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:43 PM

hair like theirs doesn't come around very often. it's a sight for sore eyes.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:46 PM

I saw them open for the Strokes (wow i feel old) and they weren't bad at all. More power to them for playing MSG. give the kiddies what they want, i say.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:49 PM

They're not bad at all, it's their fans that suck!

Posted by jsf | November 24, 2008 3:51 PM

theyre not bad, theyre really bad

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 3:59 PM

i don't know a single artist who would ever say that a band sucks.

if you don't like the art, leave it alone.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:10 PM

they used to be good but now they are gay

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:11 PM

this band has always sucked. now more than ever.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:17 PM

that reminds me that i have to use the bathroom

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:26 PM

4:10PM, people with no talent have nothing but hate. No need to worry about the comments of the losers here.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:37 PM

there are two kind of haters in life:

those that are jealous

and those that are ignorant.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:39 PM

God bless procrastination.

Was going to buy seats in the 400's sections last week. Just bought two seats in section 105 row A!

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:41 PM

all you haters: try playing MSG and see how far YOU get.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 4:51 PM

Solid point. I tried playing MSG. Didn't get very far.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 5:16 PM

I played at the corner of 34th and 6th. I like to tell everyone I played MSG. It was glorious.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 5:20 PM

"i don't know a single artist who would ever say that a band sucks.

if you don't like the art, leave it alone."

exactly. i am a musician at one of top music schools in the country and no one i know is ever so dismissive of a band like the people on this site are. you hardly ever hear "that band sucks..." most artists will say something like "they're not for me but i understand why people like them."

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 5:33 PM

I was able to get 2 tickets in section 232. $54 each. This show is undersold. "Reconfigured production" my foot.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 5:49 PM

hey indiefags:

production changes all the time. you dicks wouldn't know the difference between a "180" stage and a "360" stage if it hit you in the dick. this show will be sold out by x-mas, mark my words. if anyone wants to place bets, leave your email and your desired wager and i'll gladly take you money/contraband/soul.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 6:12 PM

Anonymous sez: "you dicks wouldn't know the difference between a "180" stage and a "360" stage if it hit you in the dick."

I know precisely jack shit about "production" and can probably wager a pretty decent fucking guess between a 180 and 360 stage. You know, not being retarded and all. I'm sure that bit of info totally blew your mind in Production 101 class, though.

This must be from the same guy who earlier claimed that people didn't like Family Guy because "they don't get the references." Right, nobody's ever seen "Back to the Future."

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 6:20 PM

Indiefag 6:20pm,

i have never and will never comment on anything but indiefags like you constantly saying shit that is unfounded or just plain wrong. shows are advanced (you can probably figure out what that means too) months in advance and its 110% realistic that production will allow for these "new" seats.

wanna bet on the sellout, dick? probably not, you don't wanna risk the money you are saving for that new Vivian Girls 7"...

fuck you.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 6:33 PM

Saw them at APW and they certainly weren't bad. Big appeal is sex, quite frankly. Three of the four of them are extremely sexy. Maybe you have to be a girl to get it, but believe me, they're very doable (except the drummer).

Posted by Deb | November 24, 2008 6:49 PM

as bland and unoriginal as nickelback or hinder.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 7:29 PM

their sound guys sucks

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 10:47 PM

their sound in general sucks. their stage presence is cocky and gives of the typical cliche rockstar vibe. all the unnecessary full stacks in the world couldn't make them sound original.

Posted by Anonymous | November 24, 2008 11:34 PM

hmmmmm should i put kings of leon on my ipod along with the new daughtry album? or the new duffy album? god, it's all so frigin awesome.

Posted by Dooder City | November 25, 2008 12:04 AM

yea their music isn't really that good for the indie scene. Maybe they are new and original for mainsteam rock, but thats not really that difficult :\

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 7:56 AM

jeez louise. this comment section got pretty nasty.

who'd have thought a mediocre band could inspire such fuming attacks?

Posted by wembley | November 25, 2008 8:20 AM

well, i for one hate on them every chance i get in hopes of some day making up for the excruciating hour and a quarter set i had to stand through before radiohead. it was worse than guantanamo bay. and oh, the weird, pasty-faced christians who pushed to the front for that set... what a bunch of weirdos. keane, louis xiv, nickelback, the killers, anything would have been better than that.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 8:32 AM

5:20...apparently you played Macy's not MSG

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 9:05 AM

Kings of Leon do not deserve this kind of vitriol. Our Federal Reserve Bank and Government do, not this band.

Oh and by the way, Obama is not a miracle worker.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 9:53 AM

what time does vivian girls headline msg?

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 9:59 AM

I have played MSG it was sold out and amazing.

Gotta agree that KOL dont deserve much and they won't be around for the count but you gotta respect a gentleman who sings about his virtually life supported soft prick.

Posted by Salman | November 25, 2008 10:55 AM

^ wow. is he trying to pick up groupies on bv?

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 11:03 AM

I think sitting through Killers would have been worse.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 11:28 AM

If you don't like the music, don't listen to it and don't talk about it. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 11:43 AM

I dont agree we should just sit quiet. Isnt the indie music credo to be anti-establishment, exposing the crass commerciality of the music biz. Kind of like the indie movie scene vs hollywood blockbusters. unless you tell people why the blackbusters are shit, they will continue to just eat it up.

also as to say musicians dont talk shit about other bands, watch the doc Kill Your Idols, bands like the Strokes come in for rough treatment from many people, including thurston moore. there's many other examples like this, for ex 70s punks often made derogatory comments on the prevailing 70s radio bands like Pink Floyd etc.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 12:07 PM

"If you don't like the music, don't listen to it and don't talk about it. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink."

here comes the waaaaaaambulance. dont cry just cause your fav band is talentless and derivative

Patrick Ewing?

Posted by Ron | November 25, 2008 1:47 PM

Anyone remember seeing them at the bowery? Talk about awful...

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 3:40 PM

These guys rock, good for them. I'll bet most of the dicks chastising them here don't get laid much. Go back to your subsidized apts off of Bedford Ave and listen to your indie, cutting edge, anti-establishment schlock there.

Posted by Anonymous | November 25, 2008 4:18 PM

Really? M83 opening for KOL? Really?

Posted by Mattdm | November 25, 2008 7:28 PM

I don't think they initially sold out the Garden, but they did have the crappy upper prom. seats for sale (330's/400's).

But this sale only resulted in 100's tickets, so not great. I was hoping for GA.

They really put on a good show these days. They rocked the Nokia Live LA, as evident in the Use Somebody video.

See you boys on the 29th!

Posted by SapphireSwell | December 18, 2008 3:42 PM

i second this comment. but i wouldn't say 'awesome', i'd say 'ok'

Kings of Leon are awesome. Especially their first 2 albums. New albums had a couple ok cuts but not very strong overall.
