girl talk. time for that dude to go.

you know he's making lke 60K a show at Terminal 5
dude must be RAKING it in with no little overhead and just himself to pay

I know he is making crazy doh.
It's fucking bonkers how arbitrary blowin' up has become. What he does is just so... easy.
that said, the bigger the bubble, the harsher the inevitable backlash will be.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer dude though.

He deserves the money... have you heard his songs? They are INCREDIBLE songs! I hope I can get his autograph tonight! I can't believe one guy is responsible for so much amazing music... really amazing.

that said, sometimes inconsequential party rockers can keep chugging along, getting more and more popular, not because anybody LOVES them so much, but because they're unpretentious good times, thus hard to hate on.
he definitely has a longer shelflife than, say, Deathset or Matt and Kim.
but it's still really weird and arbitrary that it's that dude's thing that's gotten HUGE. I hope the guy is grounded enough to realize just how mindblowingly lucky he his. Could've been any bro with a laptop, but it just happened to happen to him.

anybody can make a mash up, but there aren't a lot of people that can make a good one. Let alone enough to fill up a couple of albums.
and he's not HUGE. He's big.

6:25, i'd call playing three nights in a row to a crowd of around 8000 people is fairly close to huge
not like you could get 8000 people to your acoustic show, 6:25

hasn't matt & kim already had like a five year shelflife with a brand new album coming out in january?
your theory doesn't hold.

i can't wait for him to get in a lawsuit.

where are the girl talk pics from last night i want to see myself in them

anybody with a laptop can make a mashup, just as anybody with a guitar can write a song

The capacity at terminal 5 is just over 2,500 people. But he sells out every show and headlines festival stages now. That is pretty huge. Anyone who thinks that he is talentless is crazy though. I don't think I have ever seen a DJ who can get a crowd that crazy and his last 3 albums are all amazing.

how do you figure 60 k per night? mathematically impossible. Id say closer to 10 k, max.

If bands only made $10K at a sold out a show at Terminal 5 then theres no way they would play there.
that being said its probably more like $40K per show ...
still x 3 = $120K
not too shabby considering his low overhead on tour (no band or big crew to pay, etc)

well... you have to figure... TOTAL ticket sales for each show were around $70K. At best, he's getting half that. I'd say probably more around $20k. That's still pretty awesome.
The man doesn't need to do a day of work all year after 3 sold out shows at Terminal 5.
That said... seriously?>! Who IS this guy and how did he get so damned popular? He must be sucking some powerful cocks.
