Rhett Miller @ Blend Bar, January 2008 (BillieJoNJ)
Rhett Miller

It is with deep regret that we inform you that Blend has closed it's doors for business. We had a great run and want to thank all of the patrons, musicians, and staff who showed their love and support.

Thank you,
BLEND

I'm not sure when it went out of business. I found out today when someone (thx Matt) pointed out the venue map needs updating.

Rhett Miller plays the Bell House in Brooklyn tonight, Saturday December 13, 2008.

i saw cloud cult and land of talk there a year ago..... good show, great sound, but not very well-attended, perhaps not surprisingly..... it definitely had more of a guido vibe and seemed a bit out of the way.....

at this point you kinda have to sepifiy whether it's Ridgewood, New Jersey or Ridgewood, Queens when you say Ridgewood.

This place was in Jersey, I guess

Yes, NJ. Agree w/ 3:00 about vibe. Was going to go to a show there once and left before going in, the place was weird-

it was a cool venue. i played their once with benevento russo duo. supposedly it closed pretty fast. i knew a bartender there who found out via a note posted on the front door. it's a shame, because they were trying to bring good (original) music to suburban jersey, which is no easy task

this place closed due to massive unpaid taxes

it closed a few months ago

a good run followed by a good runner

saw matt pond pa here, and it was the weirdest "venue" i've ever been to, mainly for the fact that it was notoriously known as a cougar bar, which i had no problems with.

i saw colin hay here. it was very intimate. wish it was still open.

I thought that was Ashton Kutcher in the photo.

Agree with 11:39, I'd been there a few times and never knew they had live music. I did notice a lot of divorced women in their 40's looking for young men.

I was at the Cloud Cult/Land of talk show. Titus Andronicus opened that. It was a good show, venue was definitely not really suited for indie rock though. It was nice having a venue in a different location though.

was titus andronicus there? it makes total sense. wish i'd gotten there a bit earlier now....

all this focus on the blend bar closing, did anyone else notice how beautiful that apples song is performed solo?

They're reopening under new ownership. Trying for this winter.

Anyone know where the all Blend patrons have been hanging out? Is there a new scene somewhere nearby?
