Mariah Carey? Really? What a weird list.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 9:04 PM

seriously? wow. i am just dumbfounded.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 9:13 PM

What a bum.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 9:30 PM

how can a "very best of" record make your top ten list?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 9:34 PM

its a top nine list dumbass, that shit clearly flies.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 9:49 PM

The album is actually called "The Sound of The Smiths"

I am surprised that he liked Kralllice. Not that it is above him to be into that band, it's just a perceived incongruity.

Posted by L.S. | December 9, 2008 9:53 PM

what a jackass.

Posted by Lori | December 9, 2008 10:04 PM

Ryan Adams is obviously fucking retarded

that mariah carey shit is funny. that's apparently how he named heartbreaker was he saw a picture of mariah carey wearing a shirt that said that.

Ordinary choices from an ordinary artist.

Posted by nessy | December 9, 2008 10:21 PM

Boring choices from someone who himself is super boring. Although, I am glad he gave Metallica a shout out but still, Ryan Adams is such a yawn.

Posted by Dooder City | December 9, 2008 10:30 PM

nessy, you're an ordinary idiot just like all the others who leave similar comments on BV all day.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 10:52 PM

the comments in this thread are typical, how fitting!

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 10:59 PM

Fucking Coldplay?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 11:15 PM

a Smiths best of compilation? really?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2008 11:15 PM

wtf? why would you think that? ever think hes just a huge fan and is using the loophole of a best of to give props? dick.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 12:00 AM

there is no way he actually believes these are the best albums of the year

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 12:26 AM

ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This is the worst group of albums possible. Fleet Foxes belongs there but otherwise I am ashamed that I even saw that with my eyes. Horrible.

Posted by Sameer | December 10, 2008 3:11 AM

he completely disses the killers a month ago, now he puts him on his favorites list. maybe courtney love is right, seems this guy is touched in the head.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 6:47 AM

This guy is a moron...where are his butt buddies oasis on this list?

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 8:24 AM

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This is the worst group of albums possible. Fleet Foxes belongs there but otherwise I am ashamed that I even saw that with my eyes. Horrible"

Because you don't agree with it? What kind of egocentric world are you floating around in. You're an idiot.

Dumbass.

Posted by Nameer | December 10, 2008 8:26 AM

definitely a bit unbalanced in the brain. seeing him at MSG and in CT

Posted by chris gaines | December 10, 2008 9:02 AM

The Killers and Coldplay are unfortunate, but I think the list is believable. Everyone knows Ryan loves metal.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 9:07 AM

upon further reflection this list must be a joke or something b/c he's been raving about oasis all year and it's not there and he called out the killers publicly and it's on there.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 9:26 AM

There's no way Krallice, Testament and Fleet Foxes were meant as a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 9:35 AM

10:52 PM, 12:00 AM and 8:26 AM are the same lonely #1 ryan adams fan -- desperately trying to counter the mounting negativity online against his/her idol with embarrassingly unconvincing defenses.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 9:43 AM

OK, I'll admit Testament was one of my favorite bands in 7th grade. But I rediscovered some of their old albums recently and they're still pretty great. They've mastered the art of the "Welcome Home Sanatarium"-style metal ballad - and each of their records has at least one of these. I'm surprised they had a new album out in '08 - even more surprised I heard about it from Ryan Adams first.

Posted by Nick | December 10, 2008 10:00 AM

the testament album is actually really great. it came out during the summer and i was surprised that they still had it in them to write an album as good as their classic material.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 10:06 AM

9:43 AM, right, everyone who does not agree with idiots like yourself has to be the same person. I think Ryan is OK. Never been a big fan. You don't need to be a fan of the artists mentioned to figure out people who leave nothing but negative comments on the Internet are sad cases who try to hide their own lack of talent and personality.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 10:36 AM

ryan adams is great.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 11:30 AM

Sold! I'm buying the new Testament disc. Thank you Ryan Adams. And thank you Anonymous.

Posted by Nick | December 10, 2008 1:13 PM

I'm amused to see Ryan Adams' "people" think that the comment pages of Brooklyn Vegan are a worthy battlefield for their "services"

anyone who would pretend to be defensive about the calling out of a Smiths best of record endorsement as the obvious promotional product placement that it is - like 12:00am did - you clearly work for the artist, the label, the publicity company or all 3!

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2008 2:36 PM

This is probably the dumbest comment list I have seen. This is clearly an attempt by Adams to show how stupid you all are, and guess what.....it worked! You all belong on a retard farm!
