most of these guys are getting back together
The Specials will finish their reunion tour next May with a special gig in their hometown of Coventry. The band have now been confirmed to play the city's Ricoh Arena on May 15. As NME.COM previously reported, The Specials are reuniting to celebrate their 30th anniversary. [NME]Hopefully this will lead to some US shows as well. Controversially, keyboard player Jerry Dammers will not be part of the reunited band. All UK dates below...

to BV: Dammers was keyboard player, not drummer, and he wrote or co-wrote more than 1/2 of songs on their 1st-(best)-album. he was initial driving force for their sound, style-

They did a reunion tour a while back and it was damn good. All of the old stuff sounded great live. That being said, I wish the states didn't get screwed on that MADNESS reunion!

i saw them 10 years ago and it was amazing, though i don't think it was this much of the original line up, this'll rule for sure, i wish they were hitting our shores...

Im goin to the reunion tour in brooklyn on the 20th of april. Is it confirmed that jerry dammers will not be taking part? I love jerry & his missing teeth.

This is the first time the specials have toured as unit in forever. The last time roughly was back in the mid nighties minus Jerry , Terry and brad with Roddy doing all the singing.
