Throwing Muses

We knew Throwing Muses would be in town to play one R.E.M. song at Carnegie Hall on March 11th. Now we also know that show is party of a small tour that has the classic-indie rock band also playing more than one song in Philly, Brooklyn, and in their hometown of Boston (well, Cambridge). The Brooklyn show is at Music Hall of Williamsburg on March 12th (one day after Carnegie Hall), and 50 Foot Wave is opening which means this show will be chock full of Krisin Hersh.

Current TM lineup:
Kristin Hersh (vocals/guitar)
Bernard Georges (bass)
David Narcizo (drums)
Tickets go on Am Ex presale Wednesday and on regular sale Friday.

Throwing Muses will also be playing a set at the Breeders-curated ATP Festival in the UK in May, and at Primavera Sound in Spain that same month. All dates below...

I would be more excited if the lineup included Tanya Donelly and/or David Narcizo but I just needed an excuse to post a whiney complaint.

Last time I saw Throwing Muses it was in Brownies. Of course in those days, Williamsburg was just a good place to get Polish food.

They are just fine without Tanya. She was always more pop oriented anyway. I saw them at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA about two years ago and they were excellent! Can't wait to see them again.

i haven't seen them since '90 or so...both tanya and leslie were in the band.

i think i'll hit this. for old time's sake.

I remember when I met Tonya Donnelly in a bar in the early 90s. She totally gave me her home phone number and licked my face(from my neck to my ear if ya know what I mean). I haven't washed since then, and every time i even think of her (which is every morning when I wake up and at night when I go to bed),and I think of the smell that lingers on my rotting skin, I sigh and my heart goes a flutter. When i write songs for my band Boy Genius, I usually summon the scent of her breath that night: a mix of cheap brandy and marlboro menthol lights. I have this mix for dinner every night to this day. I really can't wait for this show. Maybe some TM fans will appreciate my distinct brand of devotion. God knows no one else does!!!!!!
