Amanda Palmer

if you hadn't noticed, all of the dresden dolls and amanda palmer official videos have been taken off youtube.

yes, folks...girl anachronism, coin-operated boy, shores of california, almost everything from who killed amanda palmer....pretty much the whole deal.
all gone. go look for yourself.
and you ask...wtf?

this is why:

basically:
"Unable to reach new licensing terms, the Warner Music Group has demanded that thousands of its videos be removed from YouTube, which is owned by Google. Warner Music's videos, the source of a billion views on YouTube, gradually began disappearing from the site on Saturday, although many remained online Sunday evening."

in other words, roadrunner is a subsidiary of warner and i'm stuck in hell with madonna and the other poor bastards, because warner wants more money. even worse, warner has almost no bargaining power...they're not even in the top ten of labels who have huge artists with material streaming on youtube. they're just starving for cash right now and they're doing anything they can think of to come up with cash. it's abSURD. they are looking for money in a totally backwards way.

money that, i should point out, i would NEVER see as an artist. if they got their way and youtube decided to give them a larger revenue share of the videos, it;s very unlikely it would ever make it's way into the artists' bank accounts.

damn, man. this shit is fucked UP.

i'll obviously let you know what happens, but i'm slowly planning some sort of tribute-a-thon of dolls and amanda videos in lieu of our actual clips.

maybe a "everybody re-enact your favorite dolls video in one take on a shitty camera, with hand puppets, for under $5" contest. maybe it will yield a masterpiece.

i loved my videos.

now they are gone.

why is life so hard?

did i mention that being on a major label is starting to seem like.....not such a grand idea?

meanwhile.

i hate the cold. elaine sent me a nice vest, with a hood.

maybe i won't take it off until my videos are back up, in protest.

shovel shovel shovel shovel shovel shovel shovel shovel

She's so annoying, whiny and full of faux angst and herself.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2008 1:19 PM

Dewey only defeated Truman on newspaper headlines, and that one episode of sliders.

if you were smart mizz palmer, you wouldnt have signed with a major label in the first place. so - qui your bitching. who cares about your bullshit, obviously Warner doesnt. you're a small fish in a big murkey major label scum pond.

Sounds like someone didnt read their "Major Label" contract.

Posted by Anon | December 31, 2008 1:24 PM

I think her "eyebrows" may be partially to blame for all this.

Who is this and why should I care?

Jay,

She's some idiot on a major label who wishes she hadn't sold out and still had some say over her career.

Glad to help, and Happy New Year!

Well come to the wonderful world of major labels wench

She signed with RoadRunner many years back and they were since bought up by Warner, so it wasn't really her decision to be on a major label.

http://www.punknews.org/article/21378 : "Warner has purchased Roadrunner Records for $73.5 million"

I saw her trying to get into Bowery at 12:30am last night as we were leaving the Patti Smith show. They were giving her a tough time trying to get her gear in. I drunkenly said 'Have a great show tomorrow!' and she said 'It's tonight!' and I said 'Well, that's just a dumb time to be scheduled.' She is, however, very attractive in person. Too bad she's on a major label - now she has cooties.

being on a major label def hurts her indie cred.

that being said, show was great. She played for two whole hours from 2:30 to 5:30. Brian Viglione was there and the closing song was her version of Leonard Cohen's "Halleluja".

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 3:17 AM

what was she thinking going to a major label? like there was really no need. couldn't she try for an indie major? then atleast she wouldn't have to deal with the warner shitstorm that's passing through these next couple months. those bastards are always in court.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 7:45 AM

it was 3:30 to 5:30

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 9:10 AM

damn. that's a shame.
either way. amanda, i masturbate to your photos online as often as possible. you're one beautiful woman.

sincerely,
some guy you will never meet that jerks it to you
xx

Why would you bother posting shitty comments. Get fucked, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't bother. Like is there not anything better you could be doing with your life.

Bottomline is Amanda Palmer is mediocre. She can’t sing, can’t play and writes crap songs. Palmer is boring and predictable… the minute she loses her audience’s attention, off come her clothes and she calls it “art.” When her record company doesn’t want to promote her awful record, she whines and claims they think she’s “fat.” Now she’s jumped on the Gaiman train, which really makes me think she is a crazy workaholic Scientologist, spending every waking minute publicizing her dopey record. The book for Who Killed Amanda Palmer is a vanity project. There is no publisher attached— no one would touch it. That’s how Gaiman started his book career, self publishing and using his Scientology connections to get ahead. The sooner her 15 minutes are up, the better.

Palmer and her "fiancee" Gaiman are Scientologists and, like Moonies, they make weird contracts with each other, which they can later "re-up" or dissolve as Nicole Kidman and Cruise did. Scientologists are not allowed to leave Scientology unless every person they know disconnects from them. Gaiman's two sisters are big-wigs in the cult; Clair Edwards is head of worldwide recruiting and Lizzie Calcinoe runs Wealden house where Gaiman was recently photographed.

Neil Gaiman gave $35,000.00 to Scientology in November 2009 as reported in Scientology's Cornerstone Newsletter. Scientology is a dangerous cult and strips people of their money and their free will by blackmailing them.

The Gaiman Family USA are Patrons with Honors of Scientology, meaning they’ve donated at least $100,000.00. The Gaiman Family USA is Neil Gaiman because both of his sisters are married and go by their married names, Claire Edwards and Lizzie Calcione. ( These two sisters are bigwig Scienos, being the respective heads of recruiting in LA and the Wealden Center in East Grinstead). In 2006, the same year Neil Gaiman donated $100,00.00, his father David Gaiman (now deceased, donated almost 400,000 pounds or $750,000.00. Gaiman's entire family are high ranking Scientologists and Neil Gaiman is a member in VERY good standing. They also donate through G & G Foods, their family company.

Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman are Scientologists. Neil Gaiman just has donated $35,000.00 to Scientology AGAIN (November 2009), according to the Cornerstone Newsletter, and has been named a Scientology Founding Patron. Gaiman and Palmer are working as a team, with the Scientology seal of approval. They got paired up to make money, that’s why their relationship was “launched” with pictures, a soundtrack, a self published vanity book of bloody snuff porn pictures of Palmer. These two idiots seem to take a photographer where ever they go to catch every “intimate” moment. What a pair of losers.

Gaiman just donated another $500,000.00 to Scientology in 2010 through his business partner Mary Gaiman!
