"and the Damned show at the Blender on NYE is cancelled"

What is your source on this? I have tickets to the show and just checked officialdamned.com where they list the other cancellations and nothing. I am assuming they canceled the other shows to let whoever is sick recover for NYE. I would imagine they wouldn't cancel that, if at all, until day of.

YYY message board says secret NYE show is at Blender Theater. Entry is limited to "gold-level" fan club members only.

go to the gramercy website, it says it's cancelled on there and to get refunds from point of purchase.

And the years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Surrounded bv stranners I thought were my friends
I found myself further and further from my home
And I guess I lost my way
There were oh so many roads
I was living to run and running to live
Never worried about paying or even how much I owed
Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend
I began to find myself searchin
Searching for shelter again and again
Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter against the wind

Not planning to stay through YLT's set (sadly); I had enough during Hannukah.

...but anyone who consciously chooses to miss a Feelies show? Seriously, though?

So thanks, 12:08, for the heads up, but I have my night well-planned. I'll moblog for you.

Also: Trombone Shorty is kind of one of the best shows I've ever seen. Kid's got it.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 2:28 PM

10:24 -- Earl Greyhound is on at 11:30, and they are playing a full set.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 2:33 PM

Do any Orthodox Jewish people go to Matisyahu shows? Not being snide, just curious. Having said that, he kind of is really annoying.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 2:49 PM

feelies shows at maxwells this past summer were fucking excellent.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 2:51 PM

I was dragged to one of the Matisyahu shows at Roseland last year... and, yes, there were many orthodox jews there.

And there were a bunch of them outside after the show handing out mini-menorahs to the faithful and chocolates to the gentiles.

Posted by wembley | December 30, 2008 2:52 PM

i think ill just go to zooey deschanel and ben gibbards wedding

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 3:01 PM

I saw Matisyahu on this weekend. Only a small handful appeared to be orthodox. He has many fans, of various backgrounds.

My Morning Jacket is complete shit.

My Morning Jacket at The Garden for NYE is complete shit with streamers.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 3:08 PM

anybody know set times for knitting factory hipstravaganza? P.S. I get embarrassed when people ask me what I'm doing on New Years and I say, "going to the last show at the knitting factory." And they're like "who's playing?" And I have to tell them bands I know they have never heard of named, "deerhoof, deer tick, akron family, megafaun and the dirty projectors" But hey it beats their plans.

Posted by anonymous2 | December 30, 2008 3:36 PM

yeah, theyre all kinda "meh" bands, arent they. oh well. its not like the knit is going away forever. bk is a better spot for it anyway. at least its closer location is nice for us long islanders,

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 5:26 PM

HEY BROOKLYN VEGAN....... don't you think that it's time you updated this page? You have three mentions of the Damned playing shows that aren't happening.... and haven't been happening for about 24 hours now.....

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 5:30 PM

There is nothing on the YYY message board about a NYE show anywhere. Some people just get off on speading bullshit rumors.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 5:31 PM

Hey December 30, 2008 5:30 PM

The guy's been busting his ass to keep this site current all freaking year. I think he deserves A LITTLE vacation, no?

If a show isn't happening, throw it in the comments and let people do the further research on their own if they're unsure.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 6:32 PM

HEY ANON5:30 - BV made it clear that updates would be sparse because it's the HOLIDAY SEASON. Have you no other way to entertain yourself or get show info. Try www.ohmyrockness.com and relax.

Posted by blackhat | December 30, 2008 7:12 PM

3:36, LOL me too. yeah, could someone give set times for the knitting factory? do you guys think there will be a countdown?

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 7:38 PM

there will be a countdown to extinction. dave mustane will spray you with his man champagne.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 7:51 PM

How about on the floor, little girl?

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 8:41 PM

hey BV you're neglecting a pretty monster show at vanishing point...

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2008 11:58 PM

Anyone know set times for the knitting factory tomorrow? Wondering if it's worth hitting up after midnight.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2008 12:15 AM

Mike Doughty Show was fun. It was a Question Jar show but I had no idea. The people in the audience apparently didn't know either and the question jar (in this case, question milk crate) was pretty light. Doughty had to send out the question crate for refills about twice. Also, Scrap was hysterical. He was talkative and kept making random comments that made me crack up. He switched between guitar and cello.

Setlist:
Thank You, Lord, for Sending Me the F Train
Tremendous Brunettes
The Only Answer
True Dreams of Wichita
I Just Want the Girl in the Blue Dress to Keep on Dancing
Down on the River by the Sugar Plant
Rising Sign
Grey Ghost
Madeline and Nine
Navigating by the Stars at Night
Your Misfortune
White Lexus
Put It Down
Shunned and Falsified
Soft Serve
Looks
I Hear Bells
Unsingable Name
Circles
Real Love
Janine
The Gambler
E:
Firetruck
27 Jennifers
Looking at the World From the Bottom of a Well
