« My Morning Jacket @ Madison Square Garden on New Years Eve, NYC - pics & setlist | an interview w/ Dan Friel, pics from New Years Eve »

"I saw Gogol Bordello at Webster Hall Monday night, and they were amazing as usual. This is the third time I have seen them and they are one of the most fun live bands I know (and I've been to a lot of concerts). I took a friend who I had previously convinced to see a disastrous Gallagher show, so I hope I have redeemed myself.Gogol Bordello played three nights in a row at Webster Hall before treating Philadelphia to a New Years Eve show at the Electric Factory. Tonight (1/2) they kick off a two-night run at the 9:30 Club in DC. More pictures from the first NYC show, below...The sound was OK, but the mixer succumbed to the "I have a lot of subwoofers so I should use them all" syndrome, and I couldn't hear the vocals very well. But I can't blame anyone for that--Eugene Hutz, the lead singer, threw his mic on the ground at least five times in the show I saw, and his acoustic guitar was distorted. I imagine the pick up was full of wine or something." [John Huntington]
