Laurie Anderson is irrelevant. But she has developed a clever scam where she can get fancy institutions to pay her for "curating."

Is Sarah Michelson Amy Winehouse's distant cousin?

wow, beirut sold out two shows and clap your hands/chairlift and grizzly bear/final fantasy can't sell out one each?
shows what i know about who's popular and who's not!
(would've guessed grizzly bear could sell out two shows on their own)

"would've guessed grizzly bear could sell out two shows on their own"
Factors to take into account:
1) Are they in the same theater? Capacities?
2) How often has each band played recently?
3) Dates of the show?
4) Price

Beirut expensive seats = $25
Grizzly Bear cheap seats = $25

Relax. Many artists "curate" shows that help give exposure to other artists. And, her current worldwide tour performing "Homeland" is very relevant...

the Laurie Anderson & Friends show was AWFUL.
the BAM directors came on stage to thanks their other halves between performances and beg for donations, meanwhile, everyone was aching for them to get off stage and the show to go on...and then it was a show with something for everyone, an open mike night at BAM for anyone to perform anything, they just forgot the guy with the crook to drag off the bad performers. Laurie appeared once, which was a typically wonderful performance, but the quality of programming either side of her was a huge disappointment for BAM. Put those people on a different stage, they're talented, but no means ready for the main stage at BAM, and especially not when you're asking for an extra $150mil and trying to impress us...
