MTV, Comedy Central & VH1 still on Time Warner for now

Time Warner Cable (TWC) and Viacom (VIA.B) were finalizing details on an agreement that will allow TWC customers to continue to watch programming on Viacom's MTV Networks, which include Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. A source close to the negotiations told CNN that TWC is expected to agree to pay a modest increase in fees to Viacom in the new deal. [CNN]It's been an eventful month at Viacom. They just laid off a bunch of peeps at the beginning of December. That included many at MTV.

I remember back when MTV was great and they actually played music videos.

nobody watches music videos anymore. it drives away viewers. a television network depends on ratings. stop bitching about how they never play music anymore. it makes you sound old.

^^^^MTV employee.
It's called "Music Television," idiot. It's supposed to showcase music. When I turn on the Food Network I see food. I don't see a reality dating show.

the idea of "watching music" is part of the foundation upon which anti-civilization is being built.

When I was looking for a new job earlier this year, Viacom was one of the companies I interviewed with. I turned down all future interviews after I had my first, the company just didn't seem stable. No idea why anyone would have stuck around, the writing on the wall was pretty clear.
