I'm glad to see they played Cobra

Wow, you guys are hilarious and biting. Color Me Bad and Bon Jovi references, great stuff. You guys should be playing Madison Square Garden!
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 3:49 PM
we'd probably sell more tickets than MMJ
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 3:54 PM

Best show of the year! Those funk covers alone were worth the price of admission. James Brown has passed his cape over to Jim James.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 4:09 PM
JJ barely recognizable!
A new year, a new you....
Posted by Tito | January 2, 2009 4:11 PM
awesome show....crowd talked WAY TOO MUCH though...
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 4:14 PM
how many tickets did they sell?
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 4:33 PM
"how many tickets did they sell?"
place was packed minus the 400 seats. i'd say there was between 12-15k there.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 4:40 PM
i enjoyed the show and the contact buzz.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 4:41 PM
bon jovi?!!?!?!? you people are morons and obviously know nothing on music. Bonjovi isnt even music its like listening to commercial jingles. MMj one of the best shows to ever hit msg. there was 18,000 people and was one of the most energized shows ever
Posted by j | January 2, 2009 5:46 PM
absolute killer show.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 5:51 PM
Socks blown off, face melted, happy new year.
And I'm pretty sure I was the only person there.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 6:28 PM
Bon jovi? Better than mmj? Go buy a cd dummy. What's it been ten years since you listened to a good band.. These guys will rock any face off.. Young, old, ugly, or goodlookin. Get a clue guys
Posted by anonymous | January 2, 2009 7:30 PM
ok, maybe bon jovi isn't better than mmj. maybe they are equal. feel better cletus?
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 7:35 PM
i pooped my pants during smoking from shooting
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 7:42 PM
Simply amazing..as always... Ive seen em in Louisville this summer and at Bonnaroo. A few times before that and... they just get better every time. and please dont even put bon jovi in this conversation... its not worth the server space on this thing... People will all realize just how good they are. Who consistently puts on 4 hour, 30-36 song sets? the people that matter have already realized... why do you think they played the garden on new years eve? They f$@@in did it
-GET DOWN ON IT-
happy new year everyone
Posted by John | January 2, 2009 8:20 PM
I have a goodlookin face...and it was rocked the F%*k off!!!Yep, this band just keeps getting better and I had no doubt they would blow the roof off the Garden. I hope they come back next year.
Awesome pics Kyle and it's good to have you back BV - the few days at work without you updating were brutal for me.
Happy New Year!

Highly Suspicious is like Radiohead's Idioteque, I kind of hated it at first but loved it after seeing them do it live.
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 8:52 PM
im amazed (LOL) that they drew that many people
Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2009 10:54 PM
some people like em'... you don't ... and?
I came to this comments section to get some info on the show.
Why are you here?
God sometimes I daydream about meeting one you fools in person and catching you in the act of being so disrespectful and ignorant. (you don't have to like their music btw)... and of course punching you square in the jaw. Such a waste of energy on my part. I'm still learning. It'll never happen though ... your internet name (or native american name) should be "Hides Behind Firewall"
I want to hate you too, but I'd be a hypocrite if I did.

JJ shaved his beard, lost some weight and i just read Katy Perry is newly single. Move over Ben & Zooey, I smell a new power couple!
Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2009 2:33 AM
^^^ and that might work too, as Katy Perry and Zooey are doppelgangers for one another. Hey... there could even be a little wifeswapping going on with nobody knowing!
Posted by wembley | January 3, 2009 10:29 AM
I've seen them before so I believe all the great review. They are solid live and the new album is so good...
Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2009 1:47 PM
Hey, if anyone has that live show on some file that doesnt take a license to extract, please let email me. It would be appreciated. I was there, missed the first 6 songs because of some bullshit with the people i was with, and a copy of the show would be amazing. Peace

"Highly Suspicious is like Radiohead's Idioteque, I kind of hated it at first but loved it after seeing them do it live."
Couldn't agree more. I saw them over the summer at Radio city music hall, and at MSG on New years, and my mind has officially been blown. Ive never seen a band that can perform like these guys, Performing spot on covers of some of my favorite old funk songs (Move on up!!! I couldn't believe it!!!), and following it up by doing amazing pink floyd-esque jams. Incredible. One of the best live bands on this earth.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2009 9:14 PM
what time did daft punk go on?
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 10:15 AM
Daft Punk went on promptly at 1:30. No costumes or pyramid... just a kickass lightshow and DJ set.
Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures during their set...
Posted by wembley | January 5, 2009 10:27 AM
my morning jacket finds chunks of "bands" like daft punk in their stool.
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 12:08 PM
What the hell were they thinking putting on that stupid video at midnight? First of all it wasnt even synchronized so the countdown to new years actually ended up happening 3 minutes early. Then they started playing "Celebrate Good Times". I felt like I was at the YMCA. What a waste of a great opportunity.
Posted by anon | January 5, 2009 1:43 PM
^^^ yeah no one enjoyed that at all
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 1:46 PM
so glad I sold my tickets for this one!
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 3:19 PM
"^^^ yeah no one enjoyed that at all"
are you being sarcastic?
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 3:36 PM
^^^yes.
that countdown / moment / song was awesome.
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 3:42 PM
"that countdown / moment / song was awesome."
ok good, cause that comment above about it feeling like a ymca is ridiculious. he/she must have no joy in their heart
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009 3:45 PM
